That's not a bad idea - would be an overnighter though. There's the campsite but there's also the bunkhouse (think youth hostel!) at the Slig, plus there's hotel rooms too for those less inclined to rough it. 360-mile round trip from Stirling Services via the Mallaig-Armadale ferry (slightly further via the bridge) so perfectly do-able over 2 days. We got incredibly lucky with the weather. If we'd been a week later, well you saw what the weather wasy like last week at times!
