I posted this pic on my FB wall and the nostalgia has come back there too! 2 of my mates has FS1E's from the 70's when I had an AR80 in 1982 when I was 17, I also remember one of the lads had a Suzuki 50 ( AP? ) looked a bit sporty to us, we thought we were the bees knees 8) :D

Yep, I had an AR80 as well

Bought my Purple FS1E new for £199 in 1974 just before I turned 16.
On my Birthday, got up, done my paper round on it then rode to school.
Off my pushbike and then onto a 50mph sports moped........those were the days. :D

Thanks for the memories Darren.

Remember mine costing £199 and had to take finance on it, lol, was a lot of money for a 16 year old in 1975. Baja Brown, no indicators, had to save up to buy some. them were the days

My 2 year old KTM cost £130 in 1975 - indicators weren't even an option!

But then indicators were designed to signal your intentions at the next junction - I usually didn't know myself until I got there!

The fizzy was the second engine I ever re-built, the first being my dads lawnmower, the lawnmower probably had more poke as standard. But on a pre-1977 de-restricted model, cheeky 60cc big-bore, Micron 'spanny' exhaust, modified disc inlet, K&N filter and it could give as much as 6 or, even 7 bhp!!!! :cpilot:

word association - 'fizzy' ~ 'piston ring' :)
