Blimey! Just come out of the dealer expecting a bill of £450 and only paid £183!
I had the car booked in for an MOT, repair to wheel arch lining and the headlamp washer hose wasn't working. The headlamp washer hose they'd claimed wasn't warranty as 'the pipe was stuck on some paint from a previous repair job', which as it occured before my ownership, I couldn't really argue.
However, at some point during the day they'd obviously decided it was warranty after all, as they'd removed it from my bill and put it through as a claim.
I also had a new battery replaced under warranty, as the old one died at the weekend, just under 3 years old (great timing just before the warranty ran out!).
Really pleased not to have to pay for the repair to the headlamp washer hose, as, despite having to accept their earlier explanation, I did become suspicious when the BMW Assist technician who came out to look at my dead battery at the weekend stated that he's seen loads of failures of the hoses.
Only owned the car for less than 5 months (non AUC) but already about £800 of warranty work plus £450 non-warranty (excluding MOT and a non-scheduled oil service I put through for peace of mind)! And I'm still thinking of taking the gamble of no extended warranty when it expires in a few weeks....
