Something I wanted to run past you all that's alluding me...
I have this sort of deep whirring noise, sounds rotary, particularly at 70mph and I'm pretty sure it's near side rear.
Heres the rub, it happens at the beginning of the journey when first getting to 70, lasts a couple of mins max and then goes away. It's sounds a lot like a wheel bearing but I'm used to that being a constant drone rather than disappearing.
I stripped the disc and caliper of that side and all looked in order and I could retract the caliper piston fine on refit. The hub is turning freely with no excessive play in the bearing. The disc was all square and the wheel (at least to the eye) looked to be running true.
Initially the inner shoes for the handbrake were a bit grabbier that side but a bit light sanding corrected that as there was just a small raised spot of dust accumulation causing it.
So I'm a bit stumped at the moment...
