A nice feeling...

to come out of a shop to find a couple of guys talking about the styling of my Z - amazing, its a 6 year old design and here are two guys in there late 20's talking about how amazing all the lines and creases are.

I really can't imagine people doing that with the new one in 6 years time - perhaps rose tinited glasses from a fairly new owner, but with the right wheels our 'old' Z's are still right up to date in my opinion - Bangle was right all along!

Agree

Have had two AC.Cobra owners compliment the looks of my Z4 thats top complement for me as i think the Cobra is an awesome looking car.

A very nice feeling indeed :D

We really do have beautiful cars!

I can help thinking how amazing the lines are each time I get in the car, when I get a glimpse at the bonnet from that angle. ..sad I know.

The Z4 is a classy looking roadster for sure. The Z4 gets a lot more attention than I expected - even in it's homeland, Germany (where I hardly saw any BTW).

there isnt anything close to as good looking, im not 100% on the nose / front lights, used to think it was ugly until i bought one, now i just think of the front as the normal bit and the rest as the stylish bits :D

I love the fact you can see so much bonnet from the driver's seat, feels very macho - absolutely love it! I hated the Z4 when it first came out but a couple of years ago I looked at one and it suddenly all made sense. Mind you, I also despised the EP3 Civic Type-R when it first came out and I ended up buying one of those and falling in love with its wedgy looks. I currently hate the Scirroco. Hmmmm......!

I've always preferred the style of the pre-facelift Z4 to the later one. I think the design looks more pure? Either way it's a car that I think will become a classic 'looker' along with the Elise Mk1, S2000, MX5 mk1, etc.

agree with you on the pre face lift, the rear bumper and lights look a lot better to me, plus those reflectors on the side of the front bumper, probably an american safety thing id imagine, but they always remind me of a porsche  plus the bonnet creases of the m give an understated aggression that the other models lack, all in all there isnt a boring angle to look at the zed from!

I love mine, especially the curves as you look through the wing mirrors!

tbh now i'm not driving it every day (i've now got a diesel Audi A3 for commuting) i forget how nice it is!!

how sad are we!?!?!

I agree - I used to hate the looks of the Z4 until I bought one. They do look superb side-on with the roof down!

Yep after a few years of ownership I still smile when I go to the car as well.
It's rather nice driving a "dream" car IMO.

I've had loads of questions about mine!

This week I came back to the car to see a 65(ish) year old lady looking at it. As I walk up to the car, they say "That's a beautiful car - I was just looking at the badge at the back to find out what it was." Her husband was also very interested in the car; even to the point of asking me how much it costs to run, as he would be tempted!

When I had my Astra VXR, my neighbours across the road and I used to say hello once in a while, but when the Z4 was parked on the driveway, the first thing they both said was "That's absolutely beautiful - It suits you and your partner well". Since I've lived here, I've had an Astra VXR, then a Mk2 MX5, then an Astra SRi Turbo, then another Astra VXR, then the Z4, and nothing has sparked more interest than the Z4! (Although my next door neighbour did say if he'd known I was selling my MX5, he'd have bought it!

When I very first got the car, I was just driving in traffic with the windows down, and a car pulled up next to me, wound the window down and the woman in the side said "I just wanted to say that is an absolutely beautiful car; and my husband thinks it's brilliant, too! - Do you want to swap?" - That was the first comment on my car, and I was dead chuffed with that! I never once got the same comment (understandbly) with the Astra VXR!

At work, it's definitely something of a talking point, too. My big boss said more than 2 words to me for the first time when I bought the Z4, and said she was impressed! (She has a Mk2 MX5)

There's been plenty of other comments from friends and strangers, and I really appreciate it. I like when people will openly come and speak to you about your car if they want to know more. I suppose it also helps that it's quite rare!

An absolutely fantastic car! I love it!

Sometimes you forget that just owning a 'sports car' is a dream that many aspire to but for practical and financial reasons just can't do.

Someone in work who I hadn't realised was a petrolhead in any way came up to me and asked if the BMW was mine (don't take it to work very often ). He told me he always wanted to own a convertible and he had always loved the looks of the Z4 but financially he just couldn't afford it. Too many kids and not enough salary!

I showed him the car then took him for a white knuckle ride :) , he hasn't stopped talking about it since!

We are all very lucky to own such lovely cars

 Yeah the Z4 does get some good attention, especially from girls i think - which is good for a 25y/o bloke :)

If you wanted attention though, my Calypso Red/Black VX220 trumped it... Infact you had to strategically hit 24hr petrol stations in the middle of the night to fill up to avoid being in a 20 minute converstaion about it!! I was also amazed by the amount of holidaying yanks around that jump in the middle of the road waving for a better look!

I've had some funny comments about mine. And i can't go down a road without someone looking at it.

My favourite one is when i was washing it one Sunday afternoon, and a bunch of young lads were walking past and i heard one of they say 'oh man that car is bad boy!'

Also at the petrol station once i had 'you and ya car is beautiful love. how much did dat cost ya?' I'm sure some people think they cost a lot more than they do. I bumped into a lad i went to school with when i was getting out of it once and he said 'bloody hell is that yours? Don't they cost about 60k?!'

I feel very priveledged to own one.
