A different facelift headlight question??

Hi all ive taken the headlights off the zed today to alter the wiring so that the flash works, ive tried mac's wiring but like he said the lights have to be on for flash to work,
so i was thinking about conecting the flash to the low beam which if i do will cause the back lights to light up when i flash, is this correct? so i was thinking if i put a diode in the low beam cable before i connect in the flash cable would this work? ive looked on ebay and found this doide does anyone know if it will work? thanks guys :driving:

Hi, the wiring is

PRE-FACELFT WIRING

1. RAIN SENSOR
2. LOW BEAM
3. HIGH BEAM
4. SIDE LIGHT
5. HAZARD
6. HAZARD
7. INDICATOR
8. BI XENON

FACE LIFT

1. RAIN SENSOR
2. LOW BEAM
3. SIDE LIGHT
4.
5. HAZARD
6. HAZARD
7. INDICATOR
8. BI XENON

If you connect to low beam then I you won't have flash to pass when lights are on. Basically xenon is on and high beam is a shutter that opens the light up more.

You need to some how get flash to pass to turn on low beam and bi xenon shutter at same time. This will then make flash to pass work when lights are on or off.

Thanks mate thats the way ive got now on low beam, so in the day it works correctly without the lights on, but in the night you have to put it to high beam to flash, i had the inside lamp working as flash out of the unit but when i fitted it there was nothing, inside the centre light theres a black screen stopping the light going through, what is it in there for? Can it be removed? Thanks

Pre facelift used inner lamp for flash to pass, facelift haven't got inner bulb and use outer xenon for high beam / flash to pass.
Only way I know to get it working correct is either get facelift LCM or intravee

The inner light has got 2 cables and a lamp in it though? I can get the lamp to light up but theres a black screen stopping it shining through? Im wondering if i can get the screen out? i'll take some pics 2moro for you mate, let me know what you think

Forgot to ask what wiring do use if you've got intravee, do you leave it original?

I wired mine up so high beam on pre facelift is connected to bi xenon and ran this for a year including an MOT which it passed as flash to pass as this isn't included on test. I then asked RichardP to code intravee to do flash to pass via intravee. Works perfect

Thanks for the help mac! Ive left it wired to low beam for now, until i can get hold of an intravee
