Thanks Andy I really hope so and I must say I am really looking forward to getting it and I know everyone says get the 35is and my choice was either a 35i or a 35is and honestly I didn't mind whichever car :) but when you are buying a used one there really aren't that many around to choose from and I wanted red leather seats and either black or grey and a DCT box so that colour combination doesn't come up often so I went for whatever model I could find and that is a 2009 35i, I also didn't want to spend 20k and really wanted to spend less as it is our weekend peaks/dales/moors car and I did spend a good bit less so it just adds up and lets face it the 35i is a lot more powerful than my 3.0 Si so I will be more than happy with 306bhp 8)

John,

I'm sure you realise that the DCT gearbox IS a manual, but with 2 clutches and the next gear always ready. Instant gear changes with no loss of power. As BMW let you tune it's characteristics with the different modes this isn't an Auto how we traditionally think of one.

If you have still have doubts I'm sure you must be able to find somewhere to give you a demo. If not in the Z4 then how about the M3/4 ?

Btw I'm very jealous of those roads you have to play with. If we had them down here there would be a hidden speed camera every 200 yards :o
True enough Andy but I meant a proper throw 1st-6th gearbox rather than just a little push and pull on the sequential shift but I get your point, probably overthinking it but I need to get it right really.
Hillwalker's right regarding the camera's etc but it's not quite as bad out my end of the Peak Park near Chatsworth, also i'm along his thinking about power hence I mentioned the other night about a 28i. Think it boils down to a manual then prob 28i, DCT then stick with the 35is on order.

@John. I think the 2.8 is an excellent middle ground. Better on fuel, more than enough power, many of the toys. It would be a great purchase if you are sat on the fence.

Wow that interior looks lush, especially with the black exterior. Did you prefer the 28i or the 35i, Andy? Although as you've ordered a new 35is I prob don't need to ask :lol:

I know the White interior is really popular but for me it has to be red as it gives it the sporty look and the White just gives it the luxury look which I do struggle very much with :) but each to their own.

The white does look nice - but there has been some negative comments about keeping it clean!
When I bought my car I wanted the white leather but the salesman talked me out of it!

Yep ordered red too Andy, the white suits the e89 but red and black is a great combo. Any news on a pick up date?

@John. March 1st obviously :wink:

I never found the White any trouble at all to keep clean, but then I love keeping my cars in perfect condition. The Black with Red Leather is a classic combination, always a winner. White is Red is another.
