Any one got any thoughts on the new GTS with the slightly detuned N/A GT4 flat six engine which has replaced the existing turbo flat four 2.5 in this model. Currently only available as manual but its highly probable PDK will be available by the summer.

A fabulous engine which sounds great but it’s too bloody fast. Only being able to use...what...50% of its potential in reality equals a very expensive frustrating car.

......soooooooo bloody tempting though.....

I’ve read there’s no PDK going to be offered. I find that hard to believe as the vast majority of new Boxsters/Caymans are specced with it, why would Porsche turn down guaranteed sales..?

Very nice my order came to £84k..may top over my Barclaycard limit..

If money was no object then I'd take it over a G29..but sadly trying to get this one past the FD may prove problematical..

I’d love one, but once you add the bucket seats (a must in my fantasy world) and a few trinkets you’re comfortably over 70k.

At that money I don’t see the 981 gts dropping much any time soon :(

Well life is to short so I have placed an order with my OPC and deposit paid. I was concerned the value of my current 718 CGTS was going to fall through the floor so that prompted me to act quickly. Apparently PDK will be available around November time. I can keep pushing my build slot back if that's the transmission I want, however, whilst I have been really impressed with the PDK in my existing GTS, I cant help feeling a N/A 4 litre flat 6 would be better suited to a manual. It would take me back to my E85 MR and TVR days.

Lovely car...but I can’t get my head around paying that much for a boxster or cayman. For that dollar you can get 2016 R8 V10+ and it’s a no brainier for me which way I’d go... :?

We have a couple of V10 Coupes and Spyders in work which I occasionally drive to and from Birmingham. Apart from the noise, which I find gets a bit tedious on a long run, there is nothing else which draws me to them. The cabin is basic and I understand the running costs are significant. Each to their own of cpurse.

Very nice and a good move I reckon.

What colour and trim did you go for?

My build spec is provisional at the moment so I have gone for Gentian Blue with the wheels painted in Satin Platinum. I am tempted by the Python Green, however, my wife doesn't like green cars and I don't want to upset the apple cart. Interior is a tough one. On my existing GTS, I went for the interior package with carmine red stitching, however, its a £3.5K option and I am wary of loading it with to many options as you will be getting close to base 718 GT4 prices. Nice dilemma to have though :D

Thanks John - go on you know you need one :D . If you are talking to your OPC in the near future perhaps you would ask them on their take as to when the PDK will become available to order.

Well there you go as you couldn’t pay me enough to have an R8, they have zero appeal.

Horses for........ :driving:
