FRONTS - ALL 225/45/ZR18
Tyre 1 - Contisport Continental (£140 new) = £40
Tread - Outer = 5mm, Centre = 5mm, Inner = 4mm

Interested in this one but courier costs for one tyre will probably make it not worthwhile. Don't suppose you ever go buy the Runcorn area?
Well, I travel past Bicester on my way home to South Liverpool on Thursdays, so I could always pick it up on my way past and drop it off in Runcorn.

Since the conti's are available again, if you don't mind, that would be much appreciated.
You ok with this Booner?

PM me your best prices for four and for all six - we're nine hours ahead in Sydney though, so don't expect an immediate reply :)

Will do buddy, does me a favour shifting all of them and I can meet your dad no problem

We have a deal....I just need to check my father doesn't mind collecting them on my behalf. Rest assured they will be thoroughly abused on the track in 2014. If my supercharger plan comes together, their life may be very short indeed

Right, I was lied to

They WILL fit my car with no issues, so if you still have them and they don't sell let me know.

Cheers Booner

Sorry RJS, they're now in an out building at my parents' house in a rather large stack of track tyres:

That's a smaller stack than when I got 17 part-worn P-Zero Corsa tyres for £70.

Sounds like a bargain, where can I get the same deal?

That's a lot of rubber!! - what my girlfriend said to me in the bedroom  :D

And yet still I worry that my 2.5m stack of rubber won't be enough

I assume it was a one-off deal when the Porsche Cup guys went up from 17's to 18's and they had plenty of stock of part-worns available. This was about 8 years ago though.

I found them on http://www.rallyusedparts.co.uk/

It was a facetious question really as I'd assumed it was through your track marshalling, but I'll certainly check out the link

It was well before the marshalling started, and it's since become harder to find good prices sets - especially considering they'd sometimes last less than 1 hour on an airfield before they started letting out air through the cords

Although I did see about 200 x 20" tyres at Donington the other weekend - I assume they were rejects from the manufacturer as they looked brand new.

Airfield tarmac is often pretty grippy and abrasive when having fun...hence the need to stockpile tyres. The next time I see canvas stripes on the shoulders mid trackday won't be the last I'm sure

I've got a stack of part worn R888s in various sizes if anyone can use them: two of each in: 235/40 with 2-3mm; 265/35 with c. 2mm and 225/40 with c. 2mm.

Don't want much for them, I've concluded they are too worn for me to be able to use, given I always have to drive to and from track days on the same tyres.

That's the reason I stopped 'collecting' any as the Z4 is not much use for transporting a spare set of wheels/tyres - whereas the M5 got 4 across the back seat.

I drive my ///M to track days too, so also need sufficient tread to get home. The advantage I have is that I usually take my Westfield along as well. As that goes on its trailer, I can carry spare tyres for my ///M either in the tow car or on the trailer itself :) Even then, with that little tread it probably isn't worth the expense of fitting and balancing, but thanks anyway Tertius
