Time will tell but I would imagine it will be fine. The film is coated in adhesive on the reverse side and you really have to get it hot with a heatgun / hairdryer to stretch it over the edges.

I might be interested in doing this on my 53 plate car. I'm near Lincoln if that's close enough to come over to help me. A very good pub dinner at my local is on offer. :thumbsup:

The 3M stuff I have has been used by a number of forum members over the years. Some of them have commented in the past they have had it on 2-3 years now no problems etc. This was what gave me the confidence in its longevity to use it on mine last October. Just for the record, six months in and I have had no issues at all.
 
Wrapped many interior parts in my other car 6 years ago it's black and so is the car. I've got back into it sometimes and the wrapped trim is too hot to touch and it's completely fine.

When I lived in the Midlands hot conditions weren't an issue. Is it now an arid desert? :lol:

I've got the brushed metal trim in mine and fancy wrapping it. How difficult is it to remove as I've never attempted it before? Is there a specific technique as I don't want to break anything. Alternatively does anyone know of a professional company that does this in the Worcestershire or Gloucestershire/south west area?

To be honest removing the trim is a really pain, particularly the centre console trim.
The light trim pops off easily enough
The main dash trim pops off easily bar one clip that you need to remove the glovebox to access
The centre console is where you will really spend your time. You have to fully remove the whole centre console as there is 27 (yes 27!) little nuts that secure on the underside. To remove the centre console you have to remove the bulkhead trim between the seats first so its a real mission. The trims are real metal unlike a lot that are plastic etc but even so 27 nuts is overkill.
My friends E46 I popped all the trims off in 5 minutes ready for wrapping, my zed took me hours and hours!

I followed other peoples instructions on this forum (do a search) and working carefully it took me about 2.5 hours to strip out all the centre console and dash trim. Not difficult but you need to be careful and work methodically. It only took just over an hour to get all back together....well worth it though.
 
I've only just caught this and have to say it looks fantastic, I'm not generally a fan of mod's but it just doesn't look aftermarket - nice job :thumbsup:

I don't think I would have the patience to do all that. I would probably rush it and break something :(

It is a day of a job with time to clean and wrap your trims factored in. Does seem like real over kill when compared to how easily other BMW's trims come apart.
 
Looks great, so great that I've just ordered the same for myself from the same seller.

Was going to order the same size sheet (600 x 1500mm) for £14.99, but noticed somehow the 700mm x 1500m is cheaper at £13.99. So saved myself a quid and have a bit extra for when I mess up as never done it before.

Think i'll practice on the door handles first!

Not a gloss wrap but I have done the interior trim on ours

This looks absolutley superb! Exactly what I want inside mine. I have so many questions... did you do it yourself? How difficult was it to remove the trim? How long did it take? Or how much did you pay? Can I pay you to do mine? :P
