59600 miles and running ...3.9p / mile servicing

So the Z4MR is closing in on 60K. That'll be 34K in my hands.

Just had oil service at main dealer. £250 inc Vat inc. aircon gas and clean, filter and sundries plus wiper blades. 4+ discount also applied.

That's been 180+900+250 on Oil - Insp II - Oil (+sundries) in 34K miles. about 3.9p mile....not too bad for performance.

Time to start putting 50-60 quid / month aside now for Insp I in 12-3K miles........to ease pain.
 
Just coming up to 30,000 miles and car's fifth birthday today. MOT today no poblems. Have to say £900 seems steep for inspection 1.
 
3.9p/mile, what about tax, insurance, buying cost etc?

my running cost is £2.14/mile

monthly payment
tax
insurance
petrol
bit and bobs etc etc

it is also high because i don't do many miles

900 ... was IIRC maybe a few tens less and also included a few other sundries...

edited frist post ...got my I's and II's mixed ... the £900 at 46K miles was Insp II - it got the Insp I done by garage on purchase as AUC at 23K.

Mine's on 56k now too, that's 55k in my hands ;D

Mine was serviced not long ago, maybe 2-3k with an interim.. but then next on mine is Inspection 1 ?!

I've had 1200k, oil, Insp 1, oil, Insp 2, oil ...

So I'm expecting my Insp 1 (or technically 3) at about 68k.

Only saying this as Insp 1 is a fair bit cheaper than 2.

But Taz, surely if you are looking at running costs its not the monthly payment you need to include, its an allowance for depreciation. The number should be under a quid a mile even with the usual suspects included....

Andy - indeed - edited my earlier posts as I muddled I's and II's.

I've found OBC re-starts at about 15K to next oil/inspection but my driving (fuel consumption) brings it along in about 11.5-12K.
 
Does anyone do interim changes for oil? I'm thinking on doing one every 5k miles. It's a pretty simple job and what with parts & oil doesn't come to over £80. :thumbsup:

I do, and have done on all my ///Ms.

I do mine at 6,000-7,000 miles.

I guess actually around 6 - 7k would be more closer to the interim between services/oil changes as per the schedule -- dependant on how you drive your car :thumbsup: , but of course we all drive ours hard :evil:
