as some of you know i fitted a scoop to my car the other day. well either my cars instrument cluster is broke or ive just achieved well over what ive ever been able to do before :o
outside temp 18.5, cruise control set to 65, revs 2900... ive even got pics to prove i aint lying!!

highest pic ive got is 57.1 but i recon if i kept on going i might have been able to get up to 58mpg. as soon as i pulled off the duel carriage way it started to plummet as expected.
my car is a 2.5i so only 5 gears plus i had the roof down!!

for clarity my normal driving is fast and urban so normally get 22 mpg with 20mph average, again that was before the scoop

I was showing 40+ mpg at 60mph on the M6 on Thursday in the ///M.

Dropped to below 30mpg once the traffic eased up.

the last time i did that journey 4 weeks ago i was getting about 43 but didn't have scoop or cruise . only 2 things have changed since then and that's the scoop and cruise. i was low on fuel but the light wasn't on when i got back, maybe 10-12 liters left. the whole journey was 55 miles and the fuel gauge lost 2/3 between two lines

was a very entertaining drive seeing those numbers

I did a spot of motorway driving today, the best I could achieve was around 47mpg going steady which am more than happy with.

2 ltr's get canny good mileage anyway

i need to carry out some tests. or make another one and have one of u guys test it out to compare results

We once had 48mpg (motorway and A road (100miles)) @ 60mph in a 2
so I suppose it might be possible if the journey suited the 2.5 perfectly

Nah It cant be right

That's more than TWICE as much as is showing on mine :o

Though I have 3 litres, haven't re-set the computer since mid-Feb, and 65mph is just a mark on my speedo for the needle to go past unless it's absolutely necessary to keep it there
