4 yellow lights

ABS sensor maybe. All your puncture warning, traction control etc use these. You will need to get the code read though.

Could be broken ABS ring on one of your hubs, if cracked could give brake warning signal and if not reading correctly from the ring could be thinking the error is change in rolling radius of that wheel and reading as low tyre inflation ?

That's my best guess

How spooky!

I had the same (bar tyre symbol) today.

Took it for a 25 mile spin and it lit up with a mile from home. Applied the handbrake at traffic lights. Then as I set off, on came the lights.

Pull all the wheel speed sensors from the back of each hub and give them a good clean. Check the ABS reluctor rings also for muck/damage. I had the same lights 3 or 4 years ago and fitted new brake pressure sensors with no change. Then sent the ABS Pump to ECU Testing which came back as fine. Pulled and cleaned all the ABS sensors and bingo...all lights gone ! All clear since then

Only a few weeks ago I had the same issue after changing the front discs and calipers.
Mine was the left front ABS sensor. Cleaning didn't help. I think the transmitted shock from the hammer I used to shift the disc must have upset it.
It was a quick and easy swap.
A code reader will tell you more. For me it meant I knew exactly which one to change.

That's great advice guys.

Does anyone have a code reader in the Worcestershire or Birmingham area that can help me?

Failing that, can someone put up a picture of these sensors so I can locate them, once I remove the wheel?

Regards

Not got a photo to hand, but on the front ones, there's a rectangular box on the inner edge of the wheel well, behind the strut. Follow the cable from that down to the hub. you'll find a sensor poked into the back of the hub assembly, held in by one bolt.

Hi mate - I'm in London and would lend if closer, but might be worth getting one. They are only £40 and well worth it (you can always sell if you move out of the BMW brand):

Appreciated. I'll take a look tomorrow. Thank you.

Quick update on mine. After trickle charging the battery, back to full strength, the lights warning lights were still active.

I went to my Indy today for a minor oil filter leak (new gasket fitted) and they ran a diagnostic check. It wasn't any sensor but the ABS Hydro pump. They had a tinker with it and the lights have gone. Ultimately, it may need a new pump but for now, all is well again.

I need a speed sensor the ring is fine cleaned the sensor but looks like i need a new sensor. Is it main dealer or are ebay ones ok.
