You don't have to explain yourself to anyone just get yourself sorted matey. There are more important things in life than cars.
After all the car does belong to your wife Mr Bond..... does it not?BrianD said:I can appreciate your position being advised at short notice regards your operation, however can't understand why the sale has been pulled. You have a buyer, you could sign the documents before you go into hospital. Your wife could accept the payment and hand over the log book and keys. Wouldn't take long as I have sold many cars in the past. Your decision at the end of the day, strange decision to make though and I don't understand it.
Hope all goes well with your operation Mr Bond.

He's about to go into hospital for surgery. Routine or not, I can say from experience that it worries the hell out you. Even when you know you're in good hands, and even when you know the people cutting you open have done it hundreds of times before... You worry.
Yes, the car is his wife's (technically) and yes he has a buyer. She could handle the sale, the paperwork and the handover. But... Her husband is about to go into hospital. She may not be all that clued up on cars. We're talking nearly thirty grand here, which is a lot of money for anybody.
And then there's the worry of what happens if the buyer isn't happy and has issues after sale? Admittedly that's a long shot, but they're all things to consider that I doubt either person wants.
Yes, it seemed as if it was a done deal. To pull out now is frustrating for the buyer and you could argue poor form on the sellers part. However, like I said to jamesbond in reply to his PM, you need to put yourself and your family first in life and I believe that's what he's doing.
Not having a dig at any members here, just saying I can see why it's happened. I'd be peeved if I were the buyer, but I'd still understand why he's done what he has.

Surely Japseroony can wait a couple of weeks to take delivery of it?
I just think that for future sales this could put a lot of buyers off knowing that it was pulled from sale at the last minute.
Its almost like getting gazumped.

I have already contacted Japseroony with a private PM tonight .. this will be my last post tonight
Really nervous and anxious as the op is not without its risks ... I Know people get frustrated with me at times, as I can be indecisive at the best of times, but I know I have lost it a few times on this forum .. but my intention has never been to upset people or waste their time intentionally.
anyway signing out been great speaking to you all ....

Just so everyone knows Nick and I have not spoken despite him saying in his "withdrawal from sale post" that he had contacted me directly - all he had done was to send me a PM and very similar to his post on here. On Saturday we chatted for an hour and a half where he was convincing me his car was better value than the new one I was considering, went through all the extras etc etc and did a very good sales job on me so I called him back and offered the full asking price and we agreed the deal - had he not been going out I would have made a deposit payment but he was in a hurry so could not give me his bank details. I sent him a PM confirming my offer and asking for his details so I could make the deposit - I also did an HPI check at a cost to me!
I tried to contact him via phone yesterday (spoke to Mrs Bond who said he would be back after 6ish) and called several times but no answer. I sent several PM's also but no reply till very late last night.
Whilst I cannot understand what Nick is going through, I am annoyed and disappointed in the way this has gone down especially as Nick has known he needed this operation for some time and we chatted about it during our lengthy phone call on Saturday and its not as if its unexpected.
I wish Nick all the best but wanted folk to know how this panned out.

Hopefully all goes well and you can continue after the all-clear.
Best of luck JB.

It's hard to feel sorry for the fella to be honest

And then there was his for sale thread for his older z4 ( went the same way )
