I can appreciate your position being advised at short notice regards your operation, however can't understand why the sale has been pulled. You have a buyer, you could sign the documents before you go into hospital. Your wife could accept the payment and hand over the log book and keys. Wouldn't take long as I have sold many cars in the past. Your decision at the end of the day, strange decision to make though and I don't understand it.

Hope all goes well with your operation Mr Bond.

After all the car does belong to your wife Mr Bond..... does it not?
But yes, as said, your op and recovery does have a higher priority and it is none of my business.

As frustrating as it must be for Jasperoony (I'm disappointed and I wasn't even first in line!) I can see where Mr Bond is coming from.

He's about to go into hospital for surgery. Routine or not, I can say from experience that it worries the hell out you. Even when you know you're in good hands, and even when you know the people cutting you open have done it hundreds of times before... You worry.

Yes, the car is his wife's (technically) and yes he has a buyer. She could handle the sale, the paperwork and the handover. But... Her husband is about to go into hospital. She may not be all that clued up on cars. We're talking nearly thirty grand here, which is a lot of money for anybody.

And then there's the worry of what happens if the buyer isn't happy and has issues after sale? Admittedly that's a long shot, but they're all things to consider that I doubt either person wants.

Yes, it seemed as if it was a done deal. To pull out now is frustrating for the buyer and you could argue poor form on the sellers part. However, like I said to jamesbond in reply to his PM, you need to put yourself and your family first in life and I believe that's what he's doing.

Not having a dig at any members here, just saying I can see why it's happened. I'd be peeved if I were the buyer, but I'd still understand why he's done what he has.

Well said Dan I totally agree with you, I know my wife Linda wouldn't want to handle the sale of our Z4 on her own.

Can this not just be suspended until JB is out of hospital instead of removing from sale altogether?
Surely Japseroony can wait a couple of weeks to take delivery of it?
I just think that for future sales this could put a lot of buyers off knowing that it was pulled from sale at the last minute.
Its almost like getting gazumped.

I must admit that I'd had this thought as well. If both parties are happy then it could wait a couple of weeks. Although obviously that does depend on how long he'll be in hospital for.

I see Jasperoony posted saying he'd ring jamesbond this evening, so maybe they've already decided on a solution.

If Jasperoony doesn't want the car any more then I know I'd be happy to do a "deal" now and just wait until the end of the month (In fact it'll fall nicely on my birthday :P )

I have not had a conversation with Nick yet and have tried to call him again but no reply - I am happy to wait or try and sort things out with Mrs Bond which ever is easier so hopefully if we can take the pressure off Nick in some way by agreeing a later date/doing a deal with Mrs Bond on Nicks behalf or simply Nick not selling then I'm in.

I know Nick has finance on the car as he has posted this already and if financial issues are a worry then I don't mind paying the finance off and picking up the car later - I am a reasonably bloke (although sometimes her in doors would disagree lol) and will try to work with Nick in anyway I can.

Good luck Nick.

Any sort of surgery is daunting but when they are cutting open your neck it's especially scary.

Can understand you not wanting any other distractions while you get sorted

Hello all

I have already contacted Japseroony with a private PM tonight .. this will be my last post tonight

Really nervous and anxious as the op is not without its risks ... I Know people get frustrated with me at times, as I can be indecisive at the best of times, but I know I have lost it a few times on this forum .. but my intention has never been to upset people or waste their time intentionally.

anyway signing out been great speaking to you all ....

Just so everyone knows Nick and I have not spoken despite him saying in his "withdrawal from sale post" that he had contacted me directly - all he had done was to send me a PM and very similar to his post on here. On Saturday we chatted for an hour and a half where he was convincing me his car was better value than the new one I was considering, went through all the extras etc etc and did a very good sales job on me so I called him back and offered the full asking price and we agreed the deal - had he not been going out I would have made a deposit payment but he was in a hurry so could not give me his bank details. I sent him a PM confirming my offer and asking for his details so I could make the deposit - I also did an HPI check at a cost to me!

I tried to contact him via phone yesterday (spoke to Mrs Bond who said he would be back after 6ish) and called several times but no answer. I sent several PM's also but no reply till very late last night.

Whilst I cannot understand what Nick is going through, I am annoyed and disappointed in the way this has gone down especially as Nick has known he needed this operation for some time and we chatted about it during our lengthy phone call on Saturday and its not as if its unexpected.

I wish Nick all the best but wanted folk to know how this panned out.

Annoying and a bit of time wasted maybe, but i think you'll struggle for sympathy - personal health comes above car sales, thankfully.

Hopefully all goes well and you can continue after the all-clear.

Best of luck JB.

I wouldn't normally comment on posts such as this but feel the need! Without being disrespectful to 007 as the guy clearly has significant challenges to face in his life, I feel for you Japseroony and think you're being very reasonable.

I've stopped watching Coronation Street on the strength this blokes previous posts but when he's messing other members about like this and costing them money, its not okay. Given the point the transaction was at I think its reasonable that you were at least contacted in person by phone, particularly as you'd already talked to Mrs 007.

Hope the matter is resolved for you Japseroony and 007 gets all the support he requires. However, I would be very cautious going forward with the transaction given the issues at hand and the fact you need to pay off his (or is it Mrs 007's??) finance. Good luck!

his last for sale thread was equally as dramatic, same car, told everyone he had sold it, he hadn't, then he told everyone he was sorry, he had been using different usernames and forums weren't for him

It's hard to feel sorry for the fella to be honest

And then there was his for sale thread for his older z4 ( went the same way )

Was not after sympathy when I posted what had happened - I was just passing on information for anyone that might or might not look to buy a car of Nick as he seems to be a habitual messer.

I do not wish him any harm and hope he makes a full and very speedy recovery but forum members beware if he tries to sell his car again.

After reading the info in these 2 threads I am astonished - I suggest everyone read them fully and especially the second one down :o :o :o
