3-29-2008 Joshua Tree and Anza Borrego Bloom

The day started out at the beach at 54 deg. Arriving at the meet point we joinrd with others, a total of 14 Z's at 58 degs. We headed off to Dudly's Backery ( with a side trip ) to meet up with yet 2more Z's a total of 16 plus an BMW850( he has a race Z, but elected to not get any proformance awards for his exhaust ( uncapped headers ). From Dudly's we elected to take yet another side trip into Julian, through Julian to Borrego Springs and Anza- Borrego State Park 85 degs. Spent the next hour taking pics of the wild flowers and catus bloom. Off to lunch at Palm Desert Resort.





After lunch a few people headed to the barn ( home ) The rest of us headed to Joshua Tree National Monument. The altitude varys and so did the temps 64- 90 degs. Spent the next 3 hours stopping for pics of wild flowers and catus blooms. Ended the day with dinner at an Italitan spot. Rhett. All and all a great day and awesome people.

Nice pics. I especially like the one that's taken looking into the mirror. One thing, what are those cars doing with their tops up?

These pics with the tops up were taken about 3:30=4:00 in the afternoon. Tops have been down since 8:00 am ( if not before knowing them) and when you have had enough 90 deg sun you look for some shade, I don't care how much sunscreen you put on, enough is enough. Expecially this early in the season. :wink:

Great Pics! I wish I could of made it. I did make it to Pasadina (spelling FTL) this past weekend. I kept an eye out for Z's but didn't see any. I wasn't in my Z though. Plus from thursday to Sunday I operated on a grand total of 4 hours sleep. The wakefull moments were filled with beer/alcohol and two breakfast meals.

You were in Cali. Driving on our turff and did not ask permission? I wonder whick of the Z patrol let you slip through. Hope you did not spend all your travel time on the freeways. There are two really good roads that you could have taken to get to Barstow or the other way around. We will catch you soon hopefully.

O dark thirthy car meet on Saturday. :lol:

Friday night go to sleep early, say 8:00 PM. :?

Get up 2-3 times during the night for restroom break. (TMI I know) :roll:

Get up at 3=4:00 and drink lots of coffee.

Get packed the night before and only have the cooler to pack in the AM. :|

Leave house to meet up with 16 or so of your favorite cars and people.

Drive all day and into the evening. :driving:

Most important theory is: You will get all the sleep you need when you are dead. :rofl: :tumbleweed:
