3-29-2008 Joshua Tree and Anza Borrego Bloom

Inspected car yesterday to get ready for the drive. Found that the inside of rear tires were starting to show wear so I replaced them. I will be rechecking air pressure today.

Weather should be great. partly cloudly, cool in the morning with a high of 80 in the desert. Packed sunscreen and water and hats. The wife will be carring the extra key. I will have vinegar and water and some paper towels to clean windshields. Darn bugs are attracted to all those flowers.

I have the camera batteries charged and a tripod. I have tested the memory sticks. The radio's have batteries and extras to boot.

Hope to see you all at 8:00 before the drive.

There are some good places in Joshua Tree were we can all get pictures of our cars all together. The best by far is Keys View towards the northern part of the park, if we can get there before sunset.

That was exactly what I was thinking, Sunset pic at the overlook.

IMZ4N, did you replace the insides of your tires because of wear? How do they wear on the insides? :?

Didn' t you just get new tires before going to homecoming, and didn't they come with new insides?
:poke:

Unfortunately, since the wife is at a ladies retreat this weekend (i guess I forgot she told me about this weeks ago), leaving me to take care of my daughter (my son takes care of himself) and since my daughter is still throwing up :o , I can't have that happening in my car  .... ah, wait, .... I want to take good care of her at home, rather then potentially having my driving getting her sicker, so I need to be a good daddie  and stay with her at home ... so as much as I really want to join the group, I'll have to defer till the april run. :(

Chuck,

Bring her doun to the house and I'm sure my two boy's would be happy to take advantage of her, I mean take care of her every need. They are 22 and 20. One is an Eagle Scout. I'm sure she would have them wrapped around her little finger in no time. :fuelfire:

OK OK not my best idea. :tumbleweed:

We will miss you and only post pics in e-mails, that way you will not know what you missed out on. :P

wow ! good number... could somebody post the complete address of the mobil station please ? I am new to that place and I have no clue what 15 and 76 mean ! ? Or let me know an alternative.... I have to drive from Thousand Oaks area.. sure it would be further south on 101 from my place... thats all I know...

15 fwy and the 76? For some reason I thought the meet up was in Palm Desert....oops.

Is that in Temecula?

This feels like a 5 am wake-up. Lemme see how the margaritas affect me tonight, I might not make it :(

Ravi,

It's about 2 hours from T.O. At that time of the morning your best bet is probably to just head straight east on 101 to the 134 east (North Hollywood) to the 210 east (Pasadena). Continue on 210 east until you intercept I-15 (Rancho Cucamonga). Go south on the 15 a few miles past Temecula and look for the the rt. 76 exit (which I believe is also called Pala Rd. around there). Have fun.

Hey Imz4n,
Looks like I can go, but will have to drive alone. Barb's got to work.
I will try to meet you when you stop at Dudley's. Since it is closer to home for me. Can you guess at what time you will get there? I will probably just get there early and have breakfast or something.

See you in the morning.
