Found this post on ZRoadster that dates back to 2007

I only found this post last night and was nice to see that the guy GEL who posted it had his 2.2 remaped by Jason which sorted his car out over 4 years a go

Good reports for Jason there, I had my car on the roller last year at AMD with results of 180bhp i should book it in again to see what its doing now
i would not expect big power gains from the remap but he has managed to sort out the bottom end lag out whic i think most 2.2 z4 driver will say is were the car lacks performance.

Cheers, hadnt found that post. My main focus is a smoother power delivery, but the added hp is a bonus.

I'm also fitting a K&N filter this week - not expecting any gains but as my current filter is due for replacement, why not..

Keep us informed, i'm pleased with the out come on my car and for £225.00 money well spent for a marked inprovment, Some would say why remap
a 2.2 juts get a 3lt if you wont more power and they would be right but i've got a 2.2 and it would cost me a bucket load of cash to sell my car and then buy a 3lt and for what may be 1 secound faster on a 1/4 mile. or what has been sugested before get a sound genarator, why, more cash no gain what so ever in performance just a induction raw inside the car. But if that is what people wont it it makes them happy that is fine. you would pay a lot more money for an oil service from Mr BMW than what you will spend with Jason the diffrance is when you get your car back from Jason you will have a smile on your face

Jason did my 3.0si in March. Got 282hp and 255lbs. I put a K&N in before the visit. Car is much more tractable and feels so much more responsive. Jason tweeked injector timing and ignition advance etc. Car is best run with Tesco 99 or similar. Whether individuals think the money is well spent is subjective, but I think it was. This N52 motor has a little more to give and BMW have this engine running 275 in other models. Jason has the new map from my car which I imagine he will run in yours and tweek as appropriate. My advice (for what its worth) is go for it. Make sure your oil is good though. When you're standing close to the engine spinning at 7000 on them rollers you'll see what I mean. Let us know how you get on.

Regards

I'd be interested in this too.

This fella isnt too far from me.

From my experience NA cars can and often do product little more top end bhp, but the power delivery is much better.... which equates to a car which feels faster (even if it is not!)

heck and if he can make my car product 285 bhp i'd be more then chuffed!

Where is Jason based?

Ive mapped all the cars ive owned but to date the 3.0si is standard! A re-map is always worth doing whether is a N/A or a Tubby :)

Any update on this thread wills? Not sure when your car was booked in for?

I'm quite eager to hear the difference in performance as I imagine quite a few others are :D

Cheers

Yep I'd certainly be interested to hear of these results....so many companies out there offering remaps/chips that are utterly pointless....if this guy is genuine I'd imagine he may receive quite a bit of business from here!

Hi away at mo, back tmrw & dyno booked in aft

Sorry all - I had the car tuned, then literaly drove for 1 hour in a queue on M25 fully laden with bicycle, before setting off on London-Paris charity cycle..!

Today drove car back 245 miles, but again with 50kg of luggage, bike on back & g/friend in tow - that said it did combined 36.8mpg!

The tune itself took about 6 hours (6hrs hanging around Hounslow was interesting) and despite Jason's very small & unassuming workshop he really knows his stuff. He also tunes some mega expensive BMs from these premises, so dont be put off if you pay a visit.

Due to above holiday etc I havent been out to test the car without extra weight & g/f moaning yet but have noticed the flat spots around 3.5/4k are gone. Jason gave mine the same tune that generated 282bhp in another si, however with mine being 242bhp at last dyno test (due to either faulty maf or new exhaust) I'll be happy with 255/260 bhp.

Dyno booked in along with mot tomorrow morning so shall post results.

Despite dyno result tomorrow, it was well worth the tune - flatspots gone, better throttle response & improved mpg.

Watch this space & apologies again for delay.

Maybe we should all have a group dyno day? We all had one on the S2K club i was in... and made for an interesting day... how identical cars can produce very different power!

That would be Great  Dyno day's make for a good meet and you will lern a little bit about your car.
AMD at thurruck is good, nice big fan and if you can get a good number of car's they normanly sort out a BBQ on the day, on a group dyno day the prices very between £35. to £40 for 3 runs. I've been to a couple or so in the past in my old Cooper S
and it becomes very intresting to compare car' s of the same, and a good Dyno will show up if the car is not performing right has shown with Wills,
i'm up fore it  anyone els, i would sergest AMD or surrey rolling road and do it Late september or October when the ambent temp has dropped
