3.0si muffler / back box delete, video + pics attached!

I'm having this done next week but keeping the original exhaust tips for £100 can't wait  Anymore videos about??

Got the car back now & I'm really not too sure what to think..

At first I thought it sounds good but I feel it's too loud for my age & the beautiful noise of the engine is replaced with a boy racer drone.

Literally every time I lift off the accelerator it sounds like thunder even at really low speeds

That's my fear, every time it think I'm gonna go for it I see/hear a rusty Astra going by with a load of lads in it.
Puts me right off.
Think I'm just to old for the added attention my zed would get. :|

Hi

I am with you, I had it done last Friday and can't help but feel i look like a tit. I am 36 and it reminds me of my XR3i days. I did a massive 5 hour drive and i can tell you the buzz at 70+ was not nice. I found myself shouting when i was speaking to people because my head was ringing  I am almost certain that the back-box delete, will be deleted!

Sports exhaust ain't aggressive enough at all.
This releases the true straight six noise :)

Don't worry, it wouldn't work on your engine anyway

Soooooo my wife has just said to me that as my birthday is coming up my present can be, and I quote. "that engine delete bigbox thing you keep going on about"

So my nearest shop would be EMP performance in St Albans...I'm pretty sure people here have had work done by them but anyone had the backbox delete?

I'm thinking of booking it in for Tuesday!

The only thing id consider is the possibility of losing mid range torque with trying to put a lot of pipework in there with no restrictions. N/A its likely to need at least a bit of back pressure.

All you need is to have the pipes pressed slightly midway similar to stock.

Similar to pinching a hose.

Who is going to volunteer to try it ;-)

How about this guys, simply get the exhaust company to have each pipe go off back to each side of the car and then simply have twin muffler tips so your not really adding two extra sets of pipes loosing back pressure but simply having them follow different paths?

That's the one thing I wanted to stay away from because I do a lot of motorway miles so wanted a great sound that didn't kill me when on the road for a long time. Think I hit the sweet spot!
