With reference to MOT, I doubt it's an failure as it doesn't affect emissions. However I'm not sure what the law is regarding noise, but is probably 'negotiable'. My tester will post my certificates out if I can't get to his station, so you just need to find a friendly one!

quick question about style dynamics, my stock 3.0 tail pipes are the very nice looking chrome type, will the ones they fit look as good?
I need to get this done asap, cause the straight six has a wonderfull sound waiting to be released, and this stock exhaust is total shite, far to quite.

Honestly I'm in two minds about this. As stock the car has that smooth, cultured BMW I6 noise, which is now gone!
It is loud, obnoxiously loud, and crackles and pops, and BANGS if you lift off near the redline.
Fun, but it's a very different car now. It also farts ands makes a sort of fluffing sound when you pull up to a stop. I fear if it was on a saxo I'd turn my nose up at it!
I want to hear it from behind with someone else driving it so I can hear it for myself, but at the moment I'm still in two minds about it.
The tailpipes are pretty much exactly the same size as OEM, and have a nice polished stainless finish to them, inside and out.
I can't fault the guys at Style Dynamics though, very friendly, welcoming, and kept me informed. I was also asked for my feedback and input at every step of the process.

Same boat as you, I love the sound, the crackles, pops and occasional bangs. But I sometimes just want to hear the engine noise.

Yup, its an acquired taste and certainly not for everyone. It is loud, but its not the same kind of sound as a Saxo with a cherry bomb or something, you can still tell its a BM engine under there for me, others probably just think loud and obnoxious though! Personally it doesn't bother me what the joe public walking past think, I wanted more engine noise so I did it, If people think I'm a chav so be it, I can live with that
The fluffing sound is normal so I've found out, have a gander on YouTube at any aftermarket exhaust videos on a Zed and they all do it for some reason, strange though.
I guess if there was a cost effective and relatively simple way of making it quiet while pootling around and loud and proud while giving it the beans it would be great, but it doesn't seem to exist
I know Yorkie on here gutted his backbox which seems like a nice sound and compromise, but the work itself seems like a pain in the ass and I've still got my original back box in one piece to return it to standard when I come to sell. Horses for courses as always. Personally Andrew, I thought I'd made a huge mistake and my heart sank (possibly like your feeling at the moment) when I drove away from Style Dynamics for the first time with the mod done, it was way louder than I wanted and thought id ruined the refined sound but to be honest its grown on me and I'm totally used to it now and enjoy it massively. Hopefully you'll grow to enjoy it
If not, then back to standard easily enough and you've not wasted £600+ on a branded aftermarket jobbie.ryanwhite19

Is there anyone in the wiltshire area with this done ? Or somebody close-ish i could drive to meet to hear it as im very very tempted to give it a try
Had mine done today! Bloody hell it's brutal now! Love it. Definitely not for the faint hearted!
Only charged me £90 full stainless.
Not got a video clip yet but I've got a few photos.
Didn't want aftermarket looking tips so I've put the machine monkey ones back on
