3.0i No sound front speakers

I have a 2009, 3.0i with sat nav and the sound is horrid. When i use the fader to the front, there is no sound from the front speakers.

Could it be the amp?

No, 6” rubber one. The rear speakers seem to work. But nothing from the front?

What sound system do you have..

Basic, 676 or 677?

Has it always been like that or has it suddenly changed?

It looks like the business version, although the vin suggests pro version, but i can only see two speakers behind the rear seats and these look to have been replaced.

The audio has been like this since i brought it a few months ago.

Sounds like it’s been messed about by the previous owners..in that case it could be anything..shorted wiring, blown channels, re-configured…

May require a bit off stripping down to see what’s been done..

If it’s the basic system the amp is built into the headunit ..that requires a bit of a strip of the interior trim..

For the 676/677 amps they sit on the rh rear bulkhead in the boot behind an easily removable fibre cover….

The normal speaker wiring has lots of locking connectors so unlikely to come apart..

If it’s been bodged then who knows..

If it’s not been bodged then if it’s a 6 speaker unit then if the amp channels have blown then it’s a new headunit..ditto on the 676/677 amps..

Normally pretty reliable..

If you haven't got the large round speaker grills in the bulkhead behind each seat you 100% have the basic business unit.
