The facts are unrefutable.
What happened happened because your manual driver was James May!
Sounds to me like someone has a chip on their shoulder about compromising and buying an auto in the first place!
I struggle to understand why some people are so sensitive stiggy, I really do and no I am not deluded stiggy nor am I calling your mother a fat ugly slag. Dont be so touchy!
On two occasions the auto beat the manual (si) off the line convincingly. I stand by what I have said, the auto is quicker through the early gears and I am satisfied it would beat you off the lights hands down due to the quicker gear changes. From a rolling start at 50mph onwards things are different against the new model.
The Parker’ based figures you quote are academic, these figures differ by 5-10% dependant upon which publication your read.
The facts are NOT “unrefutable” (unlike your spelling). :0)
No, no chip on my shoulder. I've had 3 Z4s. I have had 2 previous brand new manuals and chose a used auto on this occasion due to sitting in traffic each morning and each evening.
Note how the pics were taken in 2004 and the cars are both 2004 models. :0)
Car number 1…..
Car number 2……
Car number 3 (2005 car taken in 2009)……
Listen stiggy, I chose an automatic, the automatic did not chose me. Should I have wanted a manual car I would have bought one. The car I opted for fit the bill in terms of finances, equipment, transmission and condition.
The facts stand, my 2005 3.0i SE automatic beat a 3.0si manual off the lights on two occasions. Surprising I admit, that said the auto was and will be quicker through the early gears. Make of that what you will but an auto will shift better and quicker than you and I am confident out of 5 runs it would win in most.
Good lad.
ED, not sure if you’ve noticed but the price of the early cars have dropped below Corsa levels and as such now attract that type of owner on occasion.
