3.0 Z4 (231bhp) vs. hot hatches

Wow! Yes, yes your right. However, you're clearly too stupid to understand simple concepts.

Please quote me:

1) Where I dismissed your opinion or stated your opinion is not valid. I shared my opinion which differed to yours, sorry but that's life, get over it.

2) Where I mentioned anything about owning an M in this thread? You're the one butt hurt about it, not me.

3) Please assist me with your knowledge of my driving history, previous car ownership to back up your point that I most likely sit reading brochures/know nothing about cars, and that's why I brought an M. I'll give you a start, I owned a 3.0 Z4 previous to the M.

If you cannot quote me on the above I will then conclude you are the total moron you come across as. The only person who has a 'superiority' complex here is you and your bloody truck engineering that apparently gives you knowledge far beyond anyone else, even mocking those now that have achieved degree's. There's only one 'plonker' on this thread I can assure you.

Keep on trucking was purely a reference to your much mentioned truck engineering you bang on about, what the hell has that got to do with assumptions? Mercedes? What? I could care less who you work for quite frankly.

You guessed wrong, I'm not an engineer and I don't mind picking up the tools (changed some bushes on the car at the weekend and do lots of DIY). I work for a FTSE100 company with the market share of what they do but that's irrelevant. I wasn't stating or implying that having a degree is better, just that you assume everyone else knows nothing so thought I would let you know I'm not clueless. However, that massive chip on your shoulder turned it right back into an insult as you do with everything. You call me a moron for disagreeing with 'track experience' and M3 owners' views only to then ignore a direct link contradicting what you believe to be true. The sooner you sell your car and jog on the better.

Love thrashing my ST...

But I prefer being roof down in my 3.0I. It's just a nice experience, hearing the exhaust popping down a tight country lane, wind in the hair etc etc. I prefer that to being cocooned in a quick go kart.

There's no need to fight about it, is there? Jesus christ, act like an adult rather than a child.

Owners can be very biased as to think bmw is some superior motor company when it really isn't. If you like driving you will know hot hatches are good, renault and ford have had racing bread cars for many years. I know its a Z4 forum but all this snobbery is funny if u had bad exp in one fair enough. Whilst the Z4 might be light enough to chuck around a few corners and have enough grip to feel rewarding its really no match for a decent hot hatch. The Z4 might be ok to outrun a few street cars but so can most 6cyl bmw's. The 3.0i for me doesn't have enough power or torque and is still quite heavy when some coupes are just above 1000kg. That new fez ST montune is a little ripper for sure. Mk2 clio renaultsport proper good more rewarding than a Z4. Seats are good too both leon and Ibiza models. These people who honestly think the Z4 is so great need to get out on a track day more often and see these other cars probably come past you then you'll realise why hot hatches are so good.

Is this one of those racing "bread" cars you are on about?

Agreed, but no-one was 'fighting' about it before chops above started making ridiculous personal assumptions not even related to the original topic. If your gonna talk rubbish then expect to be challenged on it, same as in real life I would hope.

Anyway, whatev's, back on topic :)

goldbcfc rocks....
he's abit of an arse but i like his opinionated style, this place needs some spice and someone who's happy to debate all day long for what HE believes in.

i have a tuned fiesta ST.. its fucking bad ass!! one of the ALL round best cars I've owned period! and I've had loads of performance vehicles. The way that car can disect a back road is an eye opening experience, you can take liberties that you just wouldnt believe possible, the closest I've experienced to a modern day r5 GTT.. massive compliment as the r5 GTT was one of my all time faves and still is. Its light( 1088kg) tuneable punchy little engine, and a chassis that is wonderful out the box, mods are SO cheap too, always come up used so they can be built up really easily.

i also have a no stone unturned z4 build, and tbh.... It is , quite literally bonkers, ownership experience is about as high as it gets, the grim reaper sits as my passenger on every ride... i adore this one, this is performing deep into the supercar league, i held a local sprint track club class lead for nearly 6 months in 2 attempts on nankang semi slicks, with more attempts and better tyres it was only going one way!! a better time or a crash! lol.

Both are amazing and both serve a purpose the other cant touch.

I thought it needed reposting as it's bloody hilarious and nobody even bothered to admit how funny it is :D

I think we can all appreciate racing bread cars, you can give them plenty of stick and with well controlled roll the only problem is aggro from wannabes who can be a PITA.

Jump behind the wheel of a bmw though and no other car is worthy I'm sure some people would have you believe. Many of my friends race or drift cars, they build them, trash them then rebuild them its all part of the fun. I would seriously get laughed at if I mentioned any car without a turbo on it. If I mention bmw well that's another story jokes on me. No one has a bmw apart form me they all drive proably what some would consider a step down in luxury but in performance would destroy most bmw n a straightline a t 1/4 mile or on a track circuit. Someone earlier mentioned FWD vs RWD which a lot of hot hatches are FWD you can generally have more fun as you can drive them faster. A lot of bmw drivers think they can drive but really cant its a big difference. When oyu come out of a bend alive in a bmw it is rewarding but you always have that thing in the back of your head how wrong it could of went. In a hot hatch you mainly jump in and thrash them still to this day one of my best cars was my very first a white peugoet 205 gti. Blew the engine up as you do being a little revvy 4cyl another thing that makes them more fun than a 6cyl with linear power common in many petrol bmw's really.

If you drive a racing bread car like you've got something to proof things can turn sour. Dough be careful of slicing other racing bread cars up :)

Your bothered about my spelling mistakes. Jokes real funny man oh look he's written race bread instead of race bred. Seriously Z4 owner's are weird. I see why a lot of stereotypes are made now over only few months of owning one. I know some may have degrees and must be irritating when someone isn't at there level but this is a forum not some English exam. It's cool I've seen the same pattern emerging over a few threads now with same members names..........bunch of douches

oh look he's spelt race bred wrong..........FFS

Nobody would have made the joke if you hadn't got all aggressive. You only have to look at all the other posts on here to see that spelling mistakes are usually ignored. The joke was made because a number of people think you are the 'douche'.

Having come from a 2002 fiesta 1.25 :D.... my 3.0 si coupe is stupidly quick and more than enough for me. I also own a 1978 2.0 aircooled VW campervan, which only just gets to 60mph (in about 60 seconds plus).... which of them do I get the most driving pleasure from? ......The campervan, even though it is ridiculously slow and handles even worse... with the sun shining and the windows open, life in the slow lane is great fun!!

So, it's not all about who is quickest, its about having fun on the road, in whatever you drive. :driving:
