28th December - Ashbourne meet & drive

I'm going to meetup with Neil (mac27040) either on the 26th, 27th or 28th of December for a drive and a natter about mods etc

I have not thought about roads or specfic locations as yet, but keen to see if any of you Midlanders are also keen to escape the family pleasantries for several hours

On holiday all week, but given Mrs CJ will be around the 27th is hardest of the days to get a permit if it's a full day :)

Could run up to the lower Peak via Ashbourne, Dovedale, etc. Always interesting roads or just a local natter

I reckon that you cj and I live with a mile or two of each other. I might be up for this. Or I'll see you at Sainsburys at Mere Green if mrs five insists on grocery shopping instead.. :rofl:

Cool. You really are close then. I'm just up the road in Four Oaks. Just moving in, so will give you a wave if I spot you around town. Sounds like your cars pretty spottable :thumbsup:
 
I'm Shenstone - so come 300 metres my way and we can meet in the BMW dealers.

Some meet this will be when we could all walk :rofl:
 
If you are coming up to the Peaks i could meet up with you guys somewhere enroute. I'd prefer it not to be the 27th for the same reason as CJ ! :rofl:
 
If this is within semi-reasonable distance of Doncaster I might pop along :thumbsup:

Oh, and Boxing Day is no good for me. But the others are fine.

Spud - Doni is about 90 mins away from the meeting area. Google Mere Green or BMW Sytner, Sutton for general area
If the decision is to go North we could pick you up in Ashbourne etc.
 
Ranski - perhaps this needs to be sorted and settled given Santa is here soon and people get busy.

Agree start place and time
If Ashbourne and the Peak makes sense
Idea of preferred route
Time 'out' ie depart 9.00 back to base at xx

Don't want to take over or interrupt your plans, just make sure we're all set and kind of agreed.
 
• Meet at BMW Sytner, Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield Road at 9:00

• A515 to Ashbourne arrive at 10:00 (Park up and Meet at the Market Square, as per below image)

• 10:30 A spirited drive through some of lanes through the Peak - Thorpe, Dovedale, Ilam

• 12:30 arrive in Buxton for lunch and wander around

• A spirited drive down the A523 to Ashbourne

• Arrive back at Ashbourne at 14:30 to say goodbyes, then head off home
