28th December - Ashbourne meet & drive

Great day out  I thought we all had some milking to do as a forfeit, when cj took us up to that farm  But when he took his 4x4 head off, the tour was just magic  When me and Paul split from you guys back to Yorkshire, first thing he said was he needed to change his underwear after nearly snaking into those cars opposite the Cat & Fiddle :? Sorry to hear about your dent Steve, real bummer  Bitterly cold day, but very warm company. Cheers Mitchy..

Many thanks to Ranski and CJ10Jeeper for arranging a fun day out, Good to meet up with afew z4 owners & a vx220!!!

Had a great time, never thought the z4 was designed for off roading but we proved it wrong :D

Hope someone plans another soon subject to weather, if not im planning a meet at my place as we open to the public between May - September, if your interested in showing your car and getting free tea let me know.

I couldn't see anything when trying to leave the Cat & Fiddle - the road bends away behind the pillars of the coupe - so, in an attempt to avoid dawdling, I pressed down too hard.

Then the kangarooing kicked in (still got my CDV!) which didn't react well with the cold tyres and meant that I had to wrestle it (and thank the traction control) for avoiding a big collision.

Just weird that after a day of brisk driving the moment of biggest peril is when doing 20mph after leaving a junction!

That was one difficult junction to pull out of. Almost needs someone opposite to guide you out, especially knowing there may be quick drivers/riders from the other rhs

As for 4x4 driving - Did you realise that road went all the way over the tops after going through the farm? I was just being easy on you and turned there.

Glad you all enjoyed the day out.
