I actually really like the 20's - prefer them to your new setup TBH. Bang some big discs and brakes on there to fill the space and they would look even better.

WHEN I HAD JUST 20S ON HER...

That looks nice I agree with Bing needs bigger stoppers

It's your car do what you want with it  but you could never get away with 20" let alone 22" wheels in the uk!! To many bumps holes and dead dogs in and on the roads.

Just doesn't look good too me (most of my problem is the sidewalls a too thin). I like staggered, but 20" (must less 22") rims on car tires just don't work for me. Would be better with 17"/18" or 18"/19" (front/rear), but staggered rims require that the rear tire be larger diameter to keep the sidewall the same front/rear.

There are some pretty crazy holes over here too. About 10 years ago I watched a ricer pop a tire. He was darting around playing fast & furious, hit a hole, and I heard this POW! His flashers went on and he was on the side of the road in and instant.

I had to stop/pull over while I called down I was laughing so hard

Roads must be smooth as glass for you. Around here on previous cars I've trashed a total of 6 17" with 225 45 and 215 50 on the rims due to pot holes. I've been wanting a bike for a long time but can't fathom getting lost in a pot hole. In fact my bro in-law was beside a ducati when the driver hit a pot hole and launched him clear off his bike and he stopped to help him out.
To me the side shots don't look too bad with the 20's, but they wouldn't survive here at all. It does give it a stilt look though in the back. The Discs now look way outta place though, so add some monster disc brakes to your list to even it out
I'd rather lower center of gravity myself, Mrs hates it, but hey I got it for me not her LOL even though first day we had it she drove it more than me....

In the u.s it's very common for many people to be car wealthy and house poor. So if your name is on a lease at an apartment complex and you are making weekly payments on a car that is easily attainable at 15 to 16 grand now a days, by those standards there are lots of "self made" hood rats who have cell phone case stands in malls everywhere.

It's also custom that you can lease 22's, rent to own pot metal chrome junk wheels on every corner where I live. It's a shame that you have one of the best drivers cars out, and you chose to ruin for fashion. Those 22's are going to beat the s**t out your suspension. Most people can afford to make a bmw payment. Most cannot afford to properly maintain one.
That is the difference. Fashion before passion.

A cultural snapshot that has made me smile over my breakfast :D

I'm not crazy about the look on this one, but still, great effort.
I actually don't mind big wheels, but it would look better on a more extreme tuned car.

I can understand the "purists" on here, complaining about handling etc. But we have to be honest here: we have seen MUCH worse.
What I don't understand though, is what a person's financial situation has to do with all of this? There are many more forum members on here, some we call our friends, that have a very tight budget to maintain the car. But they love their Zeds so much, they will choose less comfort in other things in life.
I'll admit my opinion relates to a personal situation: I was quite poor as a child and made something out of life nonetheless. So I can understand that...
