Yeah there is that.
You can be constantly on edge waiting for the roof bong of doom. Or if owning an N20 just waiting for the camchain to snap and lunch your engine. Car forums are great!

Well I'm going to carry on being sarcastic regardless. It's the lowest form of wit and something I have finally mastered.
Yes, I do treat it as a community: more like a proper old owners' club.
If I didn't have that feeling about it then I wouldn't spend so much time trying to help others.
Most of the established members must surely have sussed me out by now anyway. I have absolutely no interest in knowing what they think of me or my approach to this forum and life in general. I would still do my utmost to assist them if they needed help.
So apologies in advance as I'm sure it is only a few posts more before I annoy you all again.

To be fair, if the price for all the help that you and others provide on here is a bit of sarcasm, then it's not a bad deal is it.

I saw the ad very soon after it was posted and thought, wow, not much effort there. At the asking price, at least make an effort. I get the seller is new to the forum, but a quick look at how other ad’s have been structured would have prevented all this. It’s a fairly new car, so we’re not asking for 20+ years of history.

One thing though, unlike the majority of forum members, most owners have zero interest in cars, they are simply a chunk of metal to drive and at some point sell. I get that may be hard to understand for car nuts, but we are the minority.

The seller should have taken the helpful banter on the chin.

I think it’s fine to join and post an advert, but you’re a sitting duck for a comment or two if you post a car for sale to a forum full of enthusiasts with nothing more than a few pics and a price.
