Curious who has had issues with these engines. I am curious if we owners of these years have seen less issues because of BMW fixing early problems, or if we think we just are seeing less because they are newer?

Why do you think 35i Z4 owners have less issues than other N54 BMWs?

Seems pretty clear?

Well I don’t, i was partly assuming though that as they used the engine in successive years they made some minor reliability improvements. Maybe I’m wrong but in my profession we definitely do. Was wondering if that was the experience or not.

Good advice! How much do you think an N20 owner will want to take an N54 in part exchange?Silverstar said:... If you really want a N54 just have a couple of grand spare in the bank at any point in time in case anything goes wrong that way you won't worry about it and can enjoy the car. But if you really are worried about it and don't want to be lumbered with expensive repair bills then it would be better to stick to the NA N52 or the 4 pot N20.
