2013 Scotland Meets - Planning and Discussion Thread

Shame it's not the week before. SWMBO is taking the kids camping (I don't camp, ever) and I would have enjoyed a Scotland run. Ho Hum. Zedfest awaits
 
Yeah we've got an August meet being discussed in this thread. JaxZ4 is skipper for that one, planning a route up the A93 and beyond. We're going to pop Bing's Scottish Meet cherry :lol:

Other than that there are a few ideas for next year too.

I'd be happy to organise a late 2012 run, and also a weekender for 2013.

I'm thinking late Sept, early October for the 2012 run. One day (unless anyone really fancies a weekender :) ) taking in the roads around the A9, but staying off the A9 as much as possible, for obvious reasons. :thumbsup:

Just looking back, I had planned on organising a Scotland/North England cross-border raid run for September. Since I've been so busy recently I've not even vaguely looked into this so will bump it to next 2013 sometime and make it a weekender. If there's time before the end of this year I can always do a mini one day run into the Scottish borders. I might go myself one day to scout out some roads for a proper hoon in which case I'll post it up for anyone who wants a day's run out at extreme short notice!

Going to see the film last night reminded me I must drive the A82 again

So let's do the Skyefall Run! although it can start in Stirling and not some dodgy lock up in London
 
Up for it - I'll start the trip in a dodgy lock-up in Maidstone :thumbsup:

Although I'll have a slightly younger/better looking co-pilot than Bond if Mrs B comes 8)

I'd really like to do a Scotland run. Fancy a convoy up Bing? Meet around Notts on the M1? I'm sure a few others would join on the way...

I will keep all my weekends free - Mrs B has just said that she definitely doesn't do camping though :(

Stuart - M6 somewhere, surely ? Or are you panning a hoon through the borders :evil:
 
If I can identify the other roads in Skyfall then I'm sure I could incorporate them into a run. A82 through Glen Coe is a definite, as is the return via the A86 - staples of any run up to the north-west area :)
 
Could well be up for a Skyefall run, but like ZermattV it all depends on my work commitments which beyond the18th December 2012 I have no idea as to what they are.
I do however reserve the right to meet at the start point disappear off to go where I want and meet up later.

This is the only way I'll get MrsG to come, as she has repeatedly stated lately after repeatedly reading posts on this forum of near misses and excessive hooning that she no longer wants to be part of a large convoy as it seems to encourage people to do things they would not ordinarily do.
 
I know it has a Skyfall theme woots Just don't bring your buddies with the Westland.. That would be just showing off
