2013 Scotland Meets - Planning and Discussion Thread

Skye August trip has hit a stumbling block.....

My mate's getting married on Saturday 3rd August - invite came through this morning.

I suspect he'd be a little upset if he found out I'd ditched his wedding to go hooning in Skye.

Need to find an alternative date - I'n thinking September? Thoughts?

Aaaaah ! - I was hoping for some juicy details of a massive Skye hoon there Adam.

Anyway the 1st half of September will be best for us - in any case less midges that time of year !

Hope this suits others. :driving:

Yeah the other thing which wasn't great about 1st weekend in August - its a bank holiday, so there will be caravans everywhere....

I'm still planning a recce run in June - which I'm really looking forward to

Bummer - not sure about September as Wee Bing will be back at school fairly early in and rugby starts again. Latter not so much of a problem, so I'll keep an eye on proposed dates.

:(

Other weekends in the middle of August would be better than September for me but well up for it :). Even less of an excuse for getting across to Lewis from Skye than Applecross though :o.

Hello - long time no see!

Just stumbled upon this. I would be up for a Skye run. Only problem is that most of August is pretty busy for me (stag weekend and wedding!). As such September will likely be busy from a work POV with me working two or three weekends.

let me know the plan - if I'm available I'd like to think I'll be there.

We're still up for this - fairly flexible re aug / sept.

Come on Adam - give us some dates - your people are waiting !

Well....... here's the thing.

Kirsty and I are a whisker away from securing our first property. It's likely that we'll be moving flat around the end of July, or start of August.

Can't confirm any dates until we've moved I'm afraid, I don't know when the move in date will be

Plus, I had been planning a recce run next weekend 22/23 June, but one of my rear springs snapped last weekend, and until I get my replacements through, I'm not overly keen to get out hooning :headbang:

Will firm up some dates as soon as poss, and might even throw in a mini hoon in the interim

Any interest in doing a one dayer in August - Say the 18th ? - might struugle to lead it as im busy but perhaps we can do a dash for chips as Malc suggests ?

perhaps the borders and we can see if some of the NE England boys want to make it up ?

Yeah - would be up for 18th August - North or South - maybe dependent on whose up for it might influence location. Malc's idea seems fine too. Happy to help co-ordinate.

Do fancy another hoon, unfortunately 18th is out for me. So have a good one anyway. Will keep a look out for whats next.

sorry to hear that John

in tems of ideas if we go sarf - how about the Jim Clark Museum at Duns ?

if we do the chipper in Stonehaven perhaps we can add in the V8 Breakfast at Inverurie ?

personally i think its a while since we went to the borders so perhaps its time for that

OK so we have three cars

1. ZermattV
2. JaxZ4
3. Swiftly

lets see how we do getting a few more - and Vote North or South

If I'm all finished moving house - I could be in for this one. Put me down as a possible, I'm hoping I can make it

I've elected to do the chippie run 8th Sept. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=53636&p=785948#p785948
