2012 520D Efficient Dynamics

I think you could say it is a 'grown up' car, not a dad's car as I''m not a dad. You can't compare it to a Z4 of any spec, they are completely different and horses for courses. If it was my only car I would probably ultimately find it a bit dull, but it isn't so its not 
So it's a day of decisions.. Local dealer is offering me a brand new pre built 520d with multimedia pro idrive, visibility pack, in white, M sport, black interior, with £7k off list and 2.9% apr as part of this weekends driving offer.
Financially it sounds attractive, offsetting depreciation nicely, my two concerns are... 1) I get the feeling ill no longer be driving a 'special' car and 2) that DPF is going to cause me problems as I do 10 miles a day!
Offer is until 4pm today... What to do...

Either seem like a bargain to me..
A friend of mine has a current model 520d M sport in white & I think it looks the business & it prompted me to consider white when I was looking to buy my M3.
I love the new 5 series loads as a package & think it has an immense interior so I think that helps keep it feeling a little special, obviously the Zed & 5 series are other ends of the spectrum but the 5 series is one hell of a car imo.
What your being offered seems hard to resist aswell, exciting times then.

I purchased a 13 month old 525d F11 touring in February with 3k on the clock. I chopped in my X5 (got £6,250 for that. The car in question was a space grey 525 M sport with memory, xenons that move LOL, full navigation, connected blah blah. the original list price was just short of £50K. Its a really nice car. best bit, is on a run it does 50mpg and around town low 40s.
Nice long distance cruiser with a big boot that betters the X5.
I didn't realise how agricultural the X was until i drove the 525. its no sports car or GT but does the long haul with load in impressive comfort which is what i want.

love your plates aswell I went from a X5 to a E61 & they are poles apart to drive nothing wrong with the X5 it's just when you get in a 5 touring you realise how heavy & cumbersome the X5 is & the 5 series just felt far more sporting to me which you would expect.What I would have done for a 550i touring
Fuel costs aren't part of my concern tbh as I do such low miles.. That's what worries me with the diesel.. If its going to cause me problems with the DPF that never gets chance to regenerate.
I like the look of this car, going practical with black leather as while I love my e89 white leather it's a pain to keep clean. The whole option is sensible with looks and toys rather than looks power and fun like I have now.
As much as ive had trouble with this car I'm finding it really hard to move on from.. No matter the deal.

Well I thought I may escape this, but I now have two dealers *super* eager to get my business on the 5 series.. stock to shift/books to balance/who knows.. so, me being me, the floor is open once again to see what they'll offer me... Could be into a nice comfy new 5 series with shiny new toys next week provided that deal is good lol... hold out for 10K off perhaps, 2.9% apr? Money in from my car (PX quotes are not great, but better than the usual webuyanycar!).
As long as you don't mind buying in the knowledge the LCI is just around the corner then it sounds like a good deal.
