2009 vs 2014 Z4

I don't get any of this. Is this a game where you try to have the last reply?
Just let it go guys... I can't imagine anyone being THAT bored to take the time to post these kind of replies.

Let's get back ON topic!

I honestly wouldn't swap to a smaller engine unless there is a financial reason for it (taxes and stuff).
What is the difference really between the 2009 and 2014 Z4? It's both an E89 right? I don't really understand why you would replace your car by the same thing with less performance and probably less value in the long run?

Happy to be corrected tho

Tim, as you know I like a joke and banter on here so don't take it too serious! Just keep the slagging off down to a minimum and remember that you too once stood up to people knocking the 2.0!!! I will continue to do so even when I get rid of mine because I genuinely think it's a better car than my old 23i.
Some of the M people on here think their car is the be all and end all because it has a big engine, and that's fine if they want to drive round in an old car. I'd rather have a new car that doesn't cost me a fortune and I can drive every day and enjoy it.
Tim, you don't boil my piss you make me laugh especially in your ding dongs with Cazza but don't turn into another narrow minded OG.

I can't see anywhere on your links that says the engine is 'crap' or 'sounds like a bag of spanners'!? You are only saying this because you are swapping yours, and that's what I think is sh1tty of you.....also seat covers on a new Z4, come on Tim that's a prime piss take opportunity!

We need that pint OG see if I can change you narrow mind on the 4 pot and Audi's

We'll need more than one pint to change my mind Luxy! We'll have to drag Disca along too, because like me, he spends too much time in Britain's second city!

I had an interesting day. Called in at the local dealer and took a test drive in a 20i auto (just out of interest you understand). The difference to my current 28i was imperceptible, at least to me. Loved the sport auto gearbox.

Ended up doing a deal on a new 20i Msport auto in Valencia Orange, delivery end of July.

I only went out for some coffee. Will I ever learn?

Yeh ok I think Disca liked his 4 pot loaner he had!! Also my Audi is a turbo too is that your worst nightmare? :D

Nice drj  did you get the black roof or all orange? The auto is fantastic and the paddles are really good if you want a bit more involvement. Thought you wouldn't have another though!!

Nah, all orange. Not too fussed about the black roof personally, and the car is already on the production line and I didn't want to throw in any additional delays. Has all the toys (comfort pack, satnav, 19" alloys) so that was enough for me. Got a very good deal.

Yes I was going to defect to Audi but had a change of heart in the last few days. Nothing else feels and looks like a zed to my mind. I guess I'm a z4 junkie at the end of the day!

Lovely,I like the all orange better than the black roof  look forward to seeing it in august at Mac's.

Hmm, let me think.... Get a great trade-in for a 5 year old 35i, fantastic BWW discount plus a generous dealer discount, get a brand new 28i M sport built to my own chosen specification and all the refinements since 2009 with full manufacturer warranty. "Less performance"? I hardly think that 0.5secs 0 - 60 extra is going to make THAT much difference. Yes, I know, the torque curve will be different, and the pedal on the right may have to go a bit nearer the carpet on occasions, but I think I'm going to be happy with my choice!

But as many people have said on this thread (and I REALLY didn't think it would have had so much reaction!), each of us is entitled to their opinion, just please offer it in less aggressive ways!

Great news can't wait to hear your views on your new motor. I had a 3.0 si and I'm looking for a 28i auto.

Well done Dr John I wish I could afford your coffee :D I thought you would have noticed the drop in 70 BHP. If your 28i was an auto we could have done a deal
