Tim, I'm not sure you have driven yours enough to comment. Hasn't you car only got about 7 miles on the clock. I bet you've never had it above 3000 rpm :-)

I'm perfectly qualified to comment thanks

Shame the Zed will be gone next week but will still have one in reserve 8)

Will be buying mine once the PCP is up at 4 years at £12600. My projected mileage by then should be 3800 might be a bit less

Will be selling the Z3 to make way for the new Hyundai i10 which will be my daily runner and cheap as chips to run But from what I'm being told theres upto a 5 month waiting list

Tim.

1. Hell of a change of heart since April.

2. 3000 ish miles is nothing and qualifies you to comment on..... Yep you guessed it ... Nothing.

Go and drive your car instead of staring at it.

For someone who doesn't contribute much to the forum and hasn't posted or contributed since the 1st of December (until the past 12 hours) I have to say you seem to have come on here to pick on Tim. Granted I haven't seen eye to eye with Tim on everything but I really don't see what reason you have for your comments and now your going and digging up of old quotes from other threads.

We all know what Tim has said over the past few months as we have been here and we've all commented on it at the time.

Tim has an opinion of which he is entitled to, you however haven't made any actual comment on this topic and instead have decided to single out Tim for some reason. I know he rubs everyone up the wrong way at some point but your not on here enough for him to do that!

Is there a minimum number of posts I have to make before I can mention what cobblers he is talking? Let me know and I will post a few more :-)

I'm with Oli on this one....Tim is talking utter bolloc#s on this thread talking about the 2.0 being 'crap' sounding like a 'bag of spanners' and 'a diesel'.......total change around from the guy now he's got rid of his zed for a 1 series.
I know he likes to look at his zed rather than drive it, and that's up to him (i just hope he wipes the jizz off it when it goes back to the dealer) but don't come on here slagging a car off because you got rid of yours. There are loads of people happy with the 4 pot and i'm one of them, ok a little more power at times would be great, but 95% of the time it's good enough for me.
As for the sounding like a bag of spanners, mines fine! Maybe Tim bought a wrong 'un, or sticking his dic# up the exhaust has done some damage.

To be fair to Tim, 3,800 miles is plenty for him to voice his opnion.

I've owned my Z for about a year and have covered ~4,750 miles......which is plenty to understand the characteristics of the car and make up my min as to whether I like it or not.

Tim's slagged off an engine, fine, disagree with him, but it doesn't invalidate his opinion.

I'm very surprised at your comments on the 2.0 engine Tim, my 28i has a version of it and I've never had the sort of problems that you talk about. The engine in mine is smooth and responsive and measures up well to the 6 cylinder in my previous 23i.

Maybe you got a bad one, did you ever take it up with BMW?

I have exactly the same spec car as Dr John and the engine in mine is fine to so maybe you got a Friday afternoon engine?

As the originator of this post, all I can say is that I'm due delivery of my new 28i next week - I'll let you know what I think, having done 34,000 miles in 2 1/2 years in my 35i. I'm VERY confident that I'm not going to be disappointed!!

(blimey Tim, that would take you 10 years to achieve! Only kidding with you!!)

Hope all goes well and it will be good to hear what you think making that step the other way. I came from the 2.0l to the 3.0l this time round.

Hi my name is Tim and I've just bought a four pot ( gulp)
Of course that's not true but if it was I'd either change my name sell the car or both!!

As for you, again with someone with very little contribution to the forum you think it is right that you can come on here an slag someone else that you do not know and clearly have had very little or no dealing with. So you have a go at TitanTim, but then actually start slagging off others with the same name

Not sure what it is with this forum but it seems to be totally acceptable for new members or people who don't contribute to come on here and start slagging folk off. People have opinions and some of the comments on here have no merit on the topic whatsoever. If you want to slag someone off then take it to the appropriate section and do no start ruining other peoples thread for your childish and bullish behaviour.

We all think that Tim talks nonsense, just let him have his opinion and you have yours, however can we stop with the personal attacks on others? If you don't like the opinion then either put your point across constructively and move on or say nothing at all.

Let him slag it off if he wants, thats his opinion and yes possibly changed since the new order was placed, however there are lots of previous 2.0l owners who have gone from 4 cylinders to 6 cylinders for whatever reason, however it does not give someone the right to come on to this forum and single out someone to have a go at.

The fact that they have then taken the time to trawl the previous posts of this person and then resurrect them in this topic without contributing to the topic is totally uncalled for.

It’s makes them nothing more than a Troll!

Who said I was slagging off my Zed? I don't recall slagging it off.

Re the N20 engine I'm stating well known facts of which mine demonstrates the same characteristcs so hardly talking bollocks. If people took the time to do a little research then perhaps they will be more the wiser than shooting off the predictable petty sarcastic comments regarding the use of my Zed, why it should bother such people so much I do not know.

Some common threads regarding the issue.

Whether its norm who knows but I would go with some of the theories the noise is actually piston slap or oil starvation to the hydraulic lifters, not good in my book for longterm longevity.

Lux (Steve) as said entitled to my opinion whether right or wrong, if you don't like it thats fine but perhaps you should give the offensive school boy toilet humour a rest please and actually put a more constructive comment across in future or just button it and save it for private use.

Olicana, I don't know what problem you have but suggest you see a Doctor.

Thanks Angie, I don't really bother that much posting anything remotely helpful on here anymore, probably since the thread I posted on seat covers for the Zed to help other members out which received the merry band of insults, ridicule etc for which on a forum where we all share a common affinity I find a little incredulous.

I can quite understand why Maniac (Gary) doesn't post on here anymore.

Shame really.

Tim.

Good point Tim. I shall go and book and appointment with Dr Who. I will borrow his tardis and travel back to the time you had some traumatic experience that turned you into a beige anorak wearing non driving bore. I will do my best to stop it happening.

Anyway why are you replying on here? Shouldn't you be taking Lux's advice and wiping stuff off your car before you trade it in?

Tim you must be looking forward to the M135i?

You bet :) Hopefully will arrive at the dealers tomorrow, pickup Friday :driving:

Going to miss the Zeds top down and looks for sure, F21 can't really compare but for me it will be much sharper to drive than the Zed, it was the first thing I noticed and surprised me a little and "hopefully" :D the engine lol.

Tim.
