Having had brand new daily cars, i've probably been a little fussy and missed out a bargain because it needed a little bit of tidying>>
The 5 was admittedly an N52, but the 5.2k was an N52K with 44K miles and just needed cosmetic overhaul!!! You learn from your mistakes for sure and i'm far better informed now!!!
yep.. at 5k you should jump on a bargain and be prepared to throw a bit a bit of cash at it, its rare you would pick up one of these cars and not have to spend a bit of cash unless you were very lucky or paying top dollar.. good luck with your search, something will pop up eventually

£5k -£6k for a 2007 onwards Si roady :?
Unless you are happy with moonship mileage , boggo spec or tatty you need to line up your ducks a bit better  any half decent example should be seeing £6500-£8500 with little effort right now .

Tracking the prices of the Coupe v Roadster there are always 3 or 4 times as many Coupes for sale and the roadster appears at least on a par price wise, if not slightly more expensive

Granted the numbers for sale tally with the numbers sold but the roadster is a very sound bet for holding its money

I thought it was the the other way round & it’s the coupe which generally commanded higher pricing than the roadster?

It surprised me when I started watching tbf

Taking out the dross and the dreamers I think the price spread is not dissimilar, maybe you can get a slightly lower mileage roadster for the same price as coupe

But, at most price points you can find similar vehicles

There’s 50 currently on Autotrader of which 16 are roadsters

Picking price points ...

Coupe 113k £6150
Roady 111k £6250

Coupe 70k £6995
Roady 74k £6995

Coupe 76k £7995
Roady 57k £7995

Coupe 69k £8900
Roady 48k £8995

The cheapest roady is £5k cheapest coupe £6k

Most expensive roady £10k most expensive coupe £14500

But the general like for like spread doesn’t seem dissimilar and maybe the £14.5k coupe is an outlier v low mileage/private

Just my observation and it’s open to interpretation

:)

Used cars will always be up for sale at a wide range of prices but in general i would always expect to buy a Si roadster for less than the equivalent Si coupe even if there are fewer examples of one over the other & that has certainly been my own experience with the ones ive bought & sold .

Some egs i found looking online just now

2007 07 3.0 Si roadster 49k £7500 https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bmw/z4-roadster/bmw-2007-e85-z4-3-0si-auto-roadster--low-mileage-fsh/10552585

i don't think i could find equivalent yr-miles Si coupes for those kind of asks ? :? i would expect at least £1k on the price of them for E86

Hello Mr Wilks, I think that the price perhaps does not reflect the condition. ref. 2007 07 3.0si 49k miles for £7500 (good value?) - that particular car has got marked up front and rear bumpers, kerbed wheels, tyres that need replacing soon. Add on those costs and the £'s soon mount up.

What would resprayed bumpers cost.
Refurbished Wheels
New Tyres.

£600-£750 ?
I'm not implying any of the cars above are without faults or issues to sort or whether they are a good buy , i'm merely indicating what's out there RE Si E85 E86 at what money .
