2007/8 3.0si manual roadster wanted

I've seen decent private sales at 5-6k and just missed out on 2 in the last week, therefore that's the level i'm realistically looking at.

Think I can probably count on one hand how many N52K manual roadsters have come up for sale in the last year. I guess if you wait long enough you will eventually find one. I waited almost 9 months but then I wanted something below 70k miles... but I still had to pay a lot more than your budget.

Can’t imagine there’s more than 300 registered with the N52K and manual

Other than looking for an auto one it’s just about the rarest Z4 you could go looking for

695 manual Si’s Roadsters sold in the UK, many of which will be N52 not N52K.

Don’t really get the specific focus on the N52K though? Cutting your options down by ruling out an earlier Si... once they’re over 10yrs old what difference does it really make?

The engine’s got some subtle upgrades, doesn’t make more power than the earlier incarnations but still worth having.

Completely agree, got my 3.0si 57 plate in feb and paid a lot more than what you are looking to spend OP. You have to move quick if you see one or someone else will snap it up. Good look with your search, cracking cars,I absolutely love mine!

£5k -£6k for a 2007 onwards Si roady :?
Unless you are happy with moonship mileage , boggo spec or tatty you need to line up your ducks a bit better  any half decent example should be seeing £6500-£8500 with little effort right now .

Hi Rob,

Yes I completely get the fact that it has some changes, but surely preference should be on overall mileage and condition with a car over 10yrs old?

If you’ve got a choice of two cars and one has the N52 & the other has N52K then fair do’s I get why you’d go for the ‘K’.... but why rule out a significant number of 3.0si Roadsters just because they have the N52?

I'm all for buying on condition and history, and i've not ruled out an N52, i'm in no rush so happy for the right car to come up at the right price, and am considering most options but must be an Si, after driving an M54 and N52 back to back i felt the latter had the drive i preferred.
I've nearly bought two at £5k and 5.2k so i know good ones are out there and am kicking myself that i didn't buy one of them for sure but i hadn't realised quite how difficult this might be. If i have no joy then so be it, but hopefully i'll be posting pictures of my weekend ride at some point..
Thank you all for your comments.

Interested to know what it was about the £5k & £5.2k cars that kept you from buying either of them ?

Having had brand new daily cars, i've probably been a little fussy and missed out a bargain because it needed a little bit of tidying>>
The 5 was admittedly an N52, but the 5.2k was an N52K with 44K miles and just needed cosmetic overhaul!!! You learn from your mistakes for sure and i'm far better informed now!!!

My 1st Coupe had an N52K and my 2nd had an N52 and I really couldn't feel any difference in how they drove.

Given the limited numbers of 3.0Si Roadsters you'd really limit your options if you hold out for an N52K as of the 695 manual ones over 380 were built before September 2006 which is the month the change was brought in.

Of the remaining 300 or so some may not have heated seats and others certainly won't have full history, so I think you need to be prepared for a very long wait!
