Hi all

Before I advertise in the national press, thought I would post up in here to give anyone the oppertunity. I will try and upload some pics ASAP. But basically its a BMW Z4 3.O Litre, 03 Plate, Red Leather, PROFESSIONAL SAT NAV, UPGRADED 18" 5 SPOKE BOLTED ALLOYS,BLUETOOTH,XENON HEADLIGHTS,REAR PARK DISTANCE CONTROl, ELECTRIC SEATS WITH DRIVERS MEMORY, GRADUATED TINTED WINDSCREEEN,AUTO DIM MIRRORS,EXTENDED STORAGE PACKAGE,WIND DEFLECTOR,MULTI CD.

It has covered 113K, but lots of service history and last serviced at 111K miles. Very good condition, slight mark on rear bumper (can take a pic if required) alloys are not kerbed, and lots of tread on the tyres. Recently has a few little parking dings removed by dent guy so very straight

In fairness I've not had this long, but it just not my cup of tea but glad I tried it. Only point to note hence the price is the roof sits ever so slightly high when its opens on the passenger side (approx 10mm or so) which as a result leaves the red LED flashing. Previous owners claimed to have had motor replaced so fairly sure it just needs a tweak or adjustment somehow.

It did have a slight idle issue but now sorted, please see post below.

SOLD :(

Please note unlike the pictures the roof sits low now, but still sits slightly high on the passenger side - please read my updated initial post. I'm sure its needs nothing more than a little fettling.

Nice looking car and good price.

My question is why have you only signed up to the forum now?

I think my post was honest enough and gave a reason in the opening line. But I'll gladly withdraw the advert is it causes offence and put it for sale on the autotrader for 8K excluding it to Z4 forum members :P

Of course I could of said I joined the forum for its knowledgebase and friendly community of like minded enthusiasts. But I'm selling the car so it would be a little contradictory and hypocritical.

Not having a dig mate. Just saying its a shame you hadn't found the forum while you were running it (though in not discovering it you have probably saved yourself a small fortune).

GL with the sale.

No worries, and to be honest I've not had the car long, so could sort of see where you were coming from even if you were. :driving:

RobEvo5, that has to be the worst carpet mat I have ever seen in a car :poke:

What's going on with the roof? It doesn't look like it's fully down....

It wasn't until I recently put it up and down a few times and now closing as it should. However after a short period the roof down light does still flash red, you can then push the button to stop it, but shortly after comes on again. So been searching the forum and hopefully its just the micro switch in the boot thats a bit dicky.! But any other pointers greatfully received - I have checked the knobs in the boot

Please read initial post, advert now updated with new price, and a detailed description warts and all! Anyone thats not a perfectionist like me, or thats a bit hands on this represents a real bargain for someone.

£6500 no offers, cash purchase.

hey good looking zed!

The problem is a common one, especially when the roof hasn’t been down for a while. Try lowering the roof half way then getting out and neaten out the way the fabric folds on the corners so that it goes down more uniform.
Lower the roof fully and it should go all the way down, if it is still up slightly give it a gentle tap in the centre to make the latch engage.
Try this process for the next few times you open the roof and it might sort it out.
Once the roof hasn’t been down for a while the fabric ‘forgets’ the best way to fold and gets a bit untidy.

I hope this helps and good luck with the sale!

Good news is the replacement MAF seems to have sorted the slightly rough idle issue. Will have a good look at the hood when I can get time, but is so minor I'm just living with it for now. Bad news for anyone thinking about this is that car is really growing on me, and I'mtempted to keep it now put some miles on it and have fun with it over the summer and think again later this year :driving: . I'm certainly in no rush to sell especially at the price on offer. But for the moment it is still for sale.

Update, slight idle issue finally sorted. Was tracked down to the DISA, and I've just put a brand new item in at £150 for the part and all sorted. So its had new plugs, and a good overhaul along the way and now got a brand spanking new DISA as well.

It will also have 2 brand new P zero Rosso's fitted to the front tomorrow.

I'm still working on the fact the hood doesn't sit 100% down on passenger side and sits up by about 10mm if that, which causes the red light to flash. Its latches and locks and if you push the corner down after the hood is down the light does out. ~I'm currently just living with this as its so minor, but will aim to take the boot lining out and look for any signs of restriction or tightness or adjustment. (But Nb the motor has been replaced, but I don't have receipt - The previous owner claimed it had been replaced by him, and its evident the item thats in there has the plastic shroud around it and therefore the newer revised version has been fitted). Just being honest unlike the seller that sold it to me. :x

Shoudl be a great car for someone.

Might I suggest you take a few photos with that crap carpet mat out. Not with bins and an open garage as a backdrop and drive it 100mtrs to polish up the discs. Take it to the local park a nd shoot it.

After all you're selling a lifestyle as well as an inviting and cared for car.

Good and fair point, which reminds me it has some nice new Red mats now. Updated pics to follow  :D

Poor sods had a right kicking and taken it very well, at least you're highlighting the faults and sorting them out.

I reckon a good valet and some decent pic's will sell it quickly on autotrader if you are serious about selling, and advertise it as no offers at that price.

Good luck.

Tell me about it Ewazix - NEVER buy a car from EBAY IMO. For every honest seller there are 10 fold disshonest sellers. Feedback counts for something but not allot.

The car is now very nice and I'm coming to like it, and should probably keep it or at least have some fun over the summer with it, But I now have a E46 M3 and whilst I could just about justify keeping both it seems a little extravagent to have both so the Z4 needs to go really.

Today is just had 2 brand new Pzero Rosso's fitted. If it don't sell in the meantime I'll throw in the one very, very good spare NCT 5 run flat tyre.

Had a quick fiddle with the hood last night and I'm fairly conviced the hydraulic cables are hindering the hinge movement slightly. When the motor was changed I don't think they did a very good job of routing the hydraulic cables. I can just about get my hands round the back to feel them and they feel like they could be in the way of the hinge mechanism slightly. So will have to look up how to remove trim and get to look properly and hopefully jsut a case of a cable tie or 2 and some time and effort.

Good cheap car this now even as it stands, Oh and I've just bought the v32 SATnav upgrade to will soon have latest 3D mapping, postcode entry etc.

Thought I would give this a bump. I'm off to le-man this week in it, but will make a concerted effort to advertise this properly when I get back.
