20"x10" Wheels

A cursory forum search didn't return anything definitive. So another wheels thread.

I'm considering going from the stock 19"x8" front, 19"x9" rear to BMW black 20"x8.5" front, 20"x10" rear. (Purely for looks and vanity.) And definitely regular tyres once the run-flats are done. (That's a massive improvement.) And no plans to touch the suspension. This car won't be tracked, but eventually a spirited drive up and down the hilly bends of northern California. (Living the dream, suckaz!)

Question: Has anybody been successful and happy with such 'plug and play' change, no tyre rubbing, etc?

Thanks,

Marc

Hey, I’m not aware of a single forum member who is running. 20” wheels.

Theres a newish member that bought his car with 20s and is looking to change.
Could ask him about his thoughts on 20s cause its probably a mistake.

There is another US Forum member running 20" wheels..his name alludes me at this stage!

Technically there's no logical reason what a lower profile 20" wheel won't fit in place of a 19" higher profile.

People have fitted 235 and 245 front and 275 rear tyres ie 8/9j front and 10j rear..

The issue may be that with a combination of lower springs may be a bridge too far.

The car isn't new to the forum , i cba searching but its been seen & discussed when a previous forum member owned it .
I wasn't inferring you should have been aware , merely posting a link to it being done

There 8.5 fronts And 10 on the rears.

Here's one of the threads with Valor on 20 rears, previously he was 245/35/19 275/35/19

Stock suspension. No rubbing unless you go hard in comfort mode when the fronts very rarely touch the arches. In sport mode never.

Bit of a thread hijack but I'm thinking of parting with my unique lady. 28k on the clock. But dare I? . I'm worried some one will buy it and I'll regret it. I was going to punt it at 21k. Thoughts...

Wow them seats :o
Doubt you'll find another one like her! Have you still got the original wheels?

No. I sold them a while back to someone on here. Hated the originals it was either dump the seats or sell the car.... I kept the car..

Good to know. Thanks.

Yes I'm on the fence about keeping the car. The profile on the front is a little thin on today's roads, I had debated taking the front alloys to a 19 and adding bigger rubber but I can't get just 2 wheels in the right colour.
