2.5Si 2007 - was mine the first one?

My 2.5SI SE was registered in 2007, so was one of the first six in this country. Just for fun is there any way I can tell or find out if it was the first one!

So did the 2.5Si get released later than other facelift models? :?

All 3 of my E86s were registered in December 2006, and I've even seen some on 06 plates.

This was a short production run of the E85 with the new 2.5 engine they’d developed for Toyota.
Ooh, lets see a pic of the engine please.
Never heard of this one?

Can't find any reference to a different engine (other than the standard M54 or N52) on BMW parts catalogues, so what engine is it?

It’s the 2.5si 215bhp version of the N52 which was new to the range.
No different to every other 2.5Si then - and no more limited/special than any other e85 models?

Same N52 engine as the 3.0i from the same dates, just slightly less torque)...but of course the 3.0Si came out with another 46hp :P

But it may be one of the first six on an 07-plate if that helps? :)

On a serious note though, I do hope you haven't paid over the odds thinking it's rare or a short production run engine?

Or the first on an 07-plate owned by TeeBee :poke:

:P

Well aren’t we all snarky today. is it the heat?
I asked the question because the registration records i saw for this version showed them first registered in the uk in 2007, and just six of them.
They were a short production run, and no I didn’t pay a premium for it.

Are you saying there was a production run of six cars?

Be interested to see the records to which you refer, as not aware of any limited production runs. Please post a copy, they might be very interesting. And if there was a special short run, then surely worth some kind of premium.

Could be you're referring to si SE as opposed to the more usual, and preferred, si Sport maybe :idunno:

Not at all no.
I'm even worse when it cools down a bit. :D

However, I do feel you need to revisit the records you saw.
Trying to be helpful here in fact................. was it a particular colour or spec you saw? Is it possible you set one too many filters?

Bear in mind the input you have received has been in the main from very experienced owners which is why your initial statement was taken with a pinch of salt.
The manner in which you were corrected/informed, whatever you wish to call it, was perhaps a little cynical, but as with all forums we get inundated with trolls or people who just want to 'big up' their car then sell it within a few days.

Regardless of whether your car was the 6th or the 6000th it remains a very nice looking example and I hope we are able to help you keep it that way in the future.

Here’s what I saw which led to me believe that (a) none were registered before 2007 (b) hardly any in 2007 itself, and (c) there was a short production run of 103 in total for the UK.

I have no intention of “bigging up” my car, I was just curious, and the response reminded me why I don’t go to Z events.

For those who made comments about a “limited edition”, if you bother to read it properly I never said that it was a limited edition, and I did say it was an Si SE at the outset, but you were in too much of a hurry to give your smart arse answers to pay attention.

Jog on.

Well thanks for taking my previous post as it was meant (NOT!)
No point apologising it seems.
SI SI, SI SE, E-I-E-I-O ...................... you still harped on about a limited production run and led us to believe it was a different engine of some sort.
It's a shame we are an inquisitive bunch really. Messes up the whole 'I'm all right Jack' ethos that all good forums should foster.
Enjoy driving your car anyway. Don't forget to wave.
