1K posts, 40K miles - The other Half's story

Yep - hope there are many more photos and meets too - it's been a pleasure meeting members of the forum and great to meet you and Tony.

Enjoyed the write up and here's to the next 40,000 miles! :D

:driving:

Going to have to introduce you to my other half, need to get her more into this sort of lark. I think she's a bit afraid of the M

In my opinion, women don't normally like driving them, due to the length of the front...but women live driving Range Rovers!!

I know what you mean, it took some considerable persuasion to get my mother to buy a 911 with me - her insisting it was "too big". until i worked out it was smaller in EVERY dimension than her citroen C4

You are such a nice bunch, you are making me want to go on a run now - I think a Z4 reunion meet for current and former members would be a great plan as I'd love a catch up

Thanks for all the kind words - much appreciated. I know it's a bit unusual for a woman to love the zed so much but there are a few around. No women drivers at the national this year due to me having a nail in the tyre so will aim to rectify that next year.

The tin opener is in the study where it brings on a smile when we see it. Obviously we can't use it as we may damage the exclusive 'M' badge on it !

And Jonny just drive your car, life's too short not to. I now drive mine to work every day as I have a half hour hoon each morning - I regularly get there with a huge smile on my face.

Great post Ruth, and a story that I (mostly) hadn't heard before. I love the focus on people rather than cars, despite the cars being what has brought us all together. It was a real pleasure spending time with you and Tony on the Skye run, I hope we all get together often over the years to come irrespective of the cars we drive.

Oh, and I did develop a secret love of Tony's Porker in Scotland, but don't tell anyone - it would ruin my credibility completely and PVR will never let me hear the end of it

I'll post something more constructive up later - more photos of people, as it's you guys that make the forum and the car runs so enjoyable.

p.s. There's another forum member joining (joined actually) the Porker club - but he's too scared to own up yet.

Missed that completely

I should have given you a slap anyway when I saw you last week, just for any future misbehaviour 8)
