Put me down as a possible, just need to check my calendar at work :)
You will remember and wait for us if you are available ?? :)
Don't worry I do like to cruise too. That's what I like about my car, I'm happy toddling along at 30mph enjoying the scenery just as much as blasting at speeds of up to 170mph

Whats the time of day were expected to meet on the outskirts of Edinburgh? It usually takes me about 45 mins to get to Edinburgh from my house, just so I can plan my times.
Looking forward to this, be a good way to get used to my new car and to meet all you guys although I get the feeling I will come home with my head full of new & wonderful ways to spend my hard earned cash on new car mods!! :)

.
Are you coming from the south or down from the North?
I am south of Edinburgh. Takes me about an hour.
In the past a Morning start (not too early). Zermatt'v organisation is 'spot on'. He'll PM out an Itinerary and instructionswhen he gets back from work commitments soon I expect. The potential for routes around the Borders is pretty unlimited! :driving:

Im coming from the west. But to be fair im not fussed how early we start, im an early riser anyway! I was just curious where & when. :)

Hi guys - as Jax says I'm going to be out of the loop quite a bit over the next few weeks up to the meet - and so Jax will post out some details the week before :poke:

As I'm a bit short of time we are splitting the leading up with Paulgs1000 doing the route leading in the south leg and Jax bringing us Home .

Paulgs is on the case for a lunch spot( I think)

The meet will start somewhere on the Bypass not Queensferry at 8:30 and then make our way to Hawick for 10:00

Great to have you along PhilK49 :driving: and anyone else who has not done a meet yet - it would be good to have you along - particularly you E89 owners - lets see some more of you out and about

Sorry I'm going to be away for this one.
Re the lunch stop. Look at the Grapes in Newcastleton.Good grub and loads of parking outside the pub in Douglas Square.

A nice road down from Hawick as, well

Does the plan remain the same no matter what the weather forecast? The way things are currently it could be quite mixed up...

Pretty much - though clearly we might all agree to stop a bit earlier - e.g. -if the weather is shocking I would probably suggest we don't bother heading down to St Abbs tiny but picturesque harbour for afternoon ice creams !

I'll probably need to leave early-ish/after lunch as my parents are arriving later in the day but yeah, up for this :).

OK - I think ZermattV might be working away just now so in case he has no forum access, I'll post for him - looks like we have a good target of 10 zeds for this run all going well. More are of course welcome - particularly anyone who can join from the south of the border - sorry you can't make this one Tom.

Fort William all over again  .

So I am still toying with the idea of another epic hoon trip with Wee Bing as we could come up Friday, spend the day with my Dad Saturday, hoon, then home Monday... What's the route looking like in terms of distance - similar to the Braemar route, and similarly good scenery ?

Just read the whole thread - 170 miles seems decent enough, Wee Bing is up for it, so stick us both down as a maybe/possible/hopefully please

Oh, and if there's a route done then it'd be cool to have a peek :driving:

Excellent stuff Bing - be great to see you both again - yes there's a route planned (with some flexibility) so I'll pm you with that in next hour or so if that's OK ! Starting point is south Edinburgh bypass so you'll be driving a fair bit north (and south again Sunday morning) to see your dad - but he is your dad !

It's Edinburgh festival time too so cheapish hotels are like hens teeth. :driving:

Should be fine - that time in the morning it'll not take that long from the Bay. Cheers Jack
