£188 for brake fluid change?!

I was charged £267 for a straight oil and brake fluid change and that's in Aberdeen the OIL capital of Europe!

that about what I was charges for both and fairly normal from main dealer.

Mine was £215 for oil and brake fluid. You're all being ripped off. Get the BMW dealer to price match if they offer it (which quite a few do).

That was price matched, I phoned my four nearest dealers and that was the cheapest price, even my local Indi was only £30 cheaper.

I was obviously very lucky to have a good BMW dealer with mine then!

It would definitely make me more inclined to buy another BMW, just because of the service and sensible prices.

Guessing there is more competition where you are, choice is limited here which probably explains higher prices.

Anyone know any decent dealers or indys in the North London area?

The local dealers have been terrible getting back to me with quotes.....

I did mine at Scotthall Ruislip. £75, but that was when I was also having an oil change. just the brake fluid would be around £90 IIRC.

Cheers for the replies. Yeah, Hexagon were by far the most expensive. In fairness to them, they were really helpful and easy to deal with. Shame their prices let them down.

I went with Sytner as I can get the car to them and still get into work, also they had all the car history there as its always been serviced by them. I'll post a review. :)

Did mine with a mate, cost about £10 for a litre or so of Dot5.1... It took about 15 minutes with a pressure bleeder. Truly shocking.

Did you rest the indicator? If so how?

As far as i remember, its the same as this guide for the X5 mate:

:)

Nothing to do with brake fluid but yesterday I had a front brake caliper fitted (genuine BMW part, 2.5 Roadster) all in for £113. Pretty damn cheap, I'd say.
