18" CSL Wheels on a E85/E86

Hello People.

After looking at other peoples cars I am starting to get a bit of wheel envy. I would like to get a set of CSL's but being my awkward self I don't want a set of 19's.

Has anyone got any pictures of ideally an E86, with sport suspension with 18's CSL's on?

I have searched this forum with google and haven't turned many up apart from one that had a massive gap between wheel and arch which it looked like it was more of a picture or tyre issue than the wheels but I couldn't work it out.

I would be really interested in seeing your pictures and knowing your offset's and tyre/suspension set up. I don't want to go any lower on suspension.

Not a coupe, but here’s my E85 when it was wearing staggered 18” CSL reps.

Than you! Very nice. From the front bumper it looks like a M so I am guessing it's the Msport suspension that's on my SI?

Not an M unfortunately, just a standard SE with an Aero bumper. It is on sport springs though.

They look great on 18's and ride a little better too. What's not to like. 8) :D

I like this alot.

On my last "fun" car albeit a Clio 182 I went down from 16's to 15's and found a thicker tyre they were effectively the same overall size as the 16's but handled alot better than the tyres that looked like they were sprayed onto the 16's.

Plus the wheels and tyres were cheaper to which was a massive bonus. I haven't looked what the difference is between 18's and 19's but I imagine its a saving.

That's great! Thanks ever so much. Same car and colour as mine so now my mind up!

I guess it's now a matter of when!

That's no problem. Forgot to say that they are 18's

Mine are 18inch CSL from CMWheels 8j front 9j rear. My car does have Bilstein B12 kit so is slightly lower than oem sport

How come not 19s? Ride?

Mixture really of costs, looks and feel. I haven't driven one with 19's on but I worry a little that the already harsh ride of a E86 might be a little more harsh.

I do prefer the look of a smaller wheel with a chunkyer tyre on it but maybe it's just me.

Looks just right that! Am i right that they are b8's in that kit? How does it handle being a little lower on country roads?

Yea thats right, it generally rides well although is a little firmer than oem. Do have a very minor amount of rubbing on the fronts but apart from that im happy. I should add that i have poly bushes in for lollypops, rtab, front arb and rear shock top mounts, so its difficult to say if the B12s made the ride firmer or the poly bushes

Interesting.

I have had a look at their site and it looks like if you buy them off their ebay you are looking at just under 430 with delivery.

It's just not the right time for me to get the wheels. Like yourself I am going to do a full suspension overhaul and then move onto wheels/tyres but I have made my mind up now.

I think I am not going to go for the b8's although I must admit your's will look better.
