I've come to this late..I use the same calipers on my 35is..are you using some custom pads?

Textar OE pads and Brembo HP pads work perfectly..

But you're not using the same (CSL) discs on your E89 though right?

Correct I’m using the ‘correct’ discs…but his issue was the pad ‘sticking’ in the caliper ?

No, OP's issue is the overall pad depth plus disc thickness dimension is greater than the dimension between the opposing pistons in the caliper. Just means you saying you've not had issues with your pads is not strictly relevant and may introduce confusion as your setup isn't quite the same as it's fitted to your e89, that's all! (not meant in a shitty way, just that at first glance it may genuinely be confusing!)

Thank you for clarifying..always the danger coming into a conversation mid way..

What’s the CSL disc thickness ?

339 x 26mm I think is the ‘official’ disc?

No worries, as I say not trying to be an internet arse, just trying to avoid confusion!!

See below quote of an earlier post - seems the CSL disc is 28mm thick :)

Pads are 17mm and disc is 28mm.

Well that answers a question I had as to why they had used a relatively thin disc.. :tumbleweed:

You can get brackets that allow the 330i 325x25mm disc.
This would solve my problem, easily.
But, if we're gonna do this, lets dot it! - 345x28mm CSL disc it is!
(but I need to break out the belt sander and shave .5mm of the pads, first.)

Thinking that questions on Brembo caliper paint matching might be better placed elsewhere on the forum. Oops! :)

I ordered the brackets yesterday.
I was planning to get them from a guy on M3 Cutters who's been supplying them to the M3 boys for years.
But he was not convinced on the comptibility on the non-M Z4's.
So, I ordered from here:
https://epytec.de/de/bmw-performance-bremsanlage-e46-z4-e85-bremssattel-adapter-vorderachse-2176
They'll be a few weeks in transit.

I've been meaning to get outside and shave a touch from my 'oversized' Brembo pads. But it's been so cold.

The E46 M3 adapters wont fit the 3.0si (non-M) hubs, if that helps at all! I bought mine attached to M3 hubs with M3 adapters, so I took those off and sold them on, and then bought the epytec.de ones you've bought

But you were running these on your M.?
Or non-M. ?

No mate, I was running the BMW performance calipers on my old 3.0si!! I've got AP-Racing brakes on the M

They worked brilliantly too, road and track! Once you've got through your teething issues you'll be chuffed with them I'm sure, keep going

Could you remove the pad shim to give more clearance?
