How about Marseille to Guiseley (about 1,000 miles) in 24 hours - before it was all autoroutes and 3 up in a Fiat Tipo with mountain bikes and tents all on board too. Was so tired had to stop for coffee about 15 miles from the end Things you do as a student!

In December 1996 I drove my family from Strand, Western Cape to Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal in an E36 325iM towing a 7ft luggage trailer in 16 hours, including stops to refuel and use the bathroom - a distance of just over 1800km/1125miles.
BTW, my trip above is not even remotely noteworthy in this part of the world - a late great friend once drove from Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng to Stellenbosch, Western Cape (roughly 1350km) in under 10 hours. He was in an E28 535iM and picked up a hitchhiker who, strangely enough, had hardly anything to say during the whole trip. :evil:

Now if we're talking fast long trips, try South London to Edinburgh (400 miles) in 4h 20minutes... :evil:
It's only possible if you leave late at night...

That's bloody impressive - I've only ever managed just over 8 hours

I left with a full tank of fuel and an empty bladder, filled up / emptied again just over halfway, and then repeated the above as I arrived in Edinburgh

I was driving an Audi TT so I had to drive fast in case someone spotted me in such a shite car

I did Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe on an overnight run sharing the driving between 3 of us. About 500 miles / 800km and took about 8 hours in an SUV rental

stayed at Lake Tahoe for a night, very impressive but cold due to the altitude
