So the 108's are off for Crimbo while the winters are doing an admirable job of wading through the slop and slime on the damp Dutch roads
Hence, thinking about having me tatty 108's refurbed while theyre off. They're in a frankly shocking state. From a distance they're not that bad and you can't really notice but up close they're hideous. A bit like some girlfriends I've had
I've been to this geezer in Amsterdam a few times now over the years and he does a cracking job for not much money. The last set he did were some 18" Breyton Magic's which looked brand spankin new after he'd finished with them and lasted yonks!
Spoke to him over the phone and he reckons he wouldn't have to split them to refurb them. But I've read numerous times about the requirement to split these wheels and everything that it entails and then the risk of post-refurb laquer peeling in any case.
What's the concensus? Buy some new-uns or refurb these without splitting?
Don't have any close-up pics and I don't fancy wandering down to the shed in me onesie just to take some, so here's a from-a-distance pic...
