108 wheel bolts

Couple of questions though, as I'm currently in the process of doing a set too:

After you had stripped the paint/corrosion with that prep wheel, what did you use to smooth it off? My thoughts are sanding by hand is going to be a pain!

Did you paint the basket or is it polished/lacquered?

Did you paint with rattle cans?

Cheers :)

I used a detail sander and different grades of grit on a couple I had to resort to some primer putty paint to get a decent surface. Some indentations are still visible as I got bored and tired of the whole job. I could/should have spent a bit more time.

All painted and lacquered, they would probably benefit from a good polish before I start using them.

Yes rattle cans. E-Tech wheel paint and lacquer.

SNIP

Sadly the wheels didn't hold pressure so have had summer tyres fitted to original wheels, winter tyres will be on the 108's (as originally intended) when the leak has been identified and sorted. It looks likely that a spot of corrosion where the tyre bead sits has caused the leak so a little more work is required.
