Hi guys,

If you had a £1000 to spend on your Z what would you go for ? .. I'm thinking of a remap , on my TT it was easy, is their any reputal companies out there for the Z ? if so do you get decent gains ?

Cheers

Joe

I had £1000 to spend on my car, spent it all on wheels :o

based on your picture, you won't need those! nice wheels

Gain from the TT would have been easier as it's forced induction (assuming it wasn't the V6... 225 springs to mind), gains from mapping are far harder to achieve from NA engines. I wouldn't bother TBH. Have a look at my Dyno link - I got nothing... had the map done as it pretty much worked out FOC and I was curious.

£1000... you already have a sweet set of rim, I'd probably go for an exhaust (Eisenmann) and stiffer anti-roll bars. While I have tried that yet, it will probably be my last mod. No really, after that I'm calling it a day. Although...

Others - £220 - M Steering wheel, fantastic mod, you would not believe the difference in feel is to the steering - if your's doesn't already have it.

Just noticed yours is the facelift; the N52 engine is very hard to tune to the point where it is even quite difficult to find exhausts!

New answer then.... spend it on a European road trip :driving: :D

EDIT: Actually, if you haven't had the car long I'd give it a while, see where you want improvements... European road trip would be good for that.

Other one I just thought of, strut brace - OEM about £200 from Soper.

For the time being maybe.

If you have a spending habit maybe a foam lance or other detailing stuff?

Does sound like a really good car you have there

I'd probably go for a quad exhaust and cf diffuser, red ///m sport seats and throw in some decent clear indicator AE headlights and an E46 brake upgrade. That would about use up that budget. Any change and I'd customise a set of 108's

I'm waiting for OEM carbon fibre rear diffuser for E89 (to replace the dark grey glossy part of the rear bumper).

Hi mate

I think I remember you from the TTForum. I'm selling my TT asap and looking at getting a Z4M Roadster. Yours looks nice in the pic.

Hmmm, curious about this? Is it done with OE parts or aftermarket?

Any idea of suppliers? :)

CJ's Zed has aftermarket quad exhaust system with modified OEM CF rear diffuser from facelift model.

Aah, I see.

I was hoping for some bolt on solutions, keen not to chop it about.

I would go for the BMW (OEM) Strutbrace/which is a great mod on roadsters/aero side skirts and remao/de-limit,for £1k in total (all in)

It was a bit tongue in cheek Dan, in that these are some of the core mods I've done that net costs after sale of surplus parts and a lot of ingenuity have probaly cost me in the region of £1k. Lot of DIY and adaptations to do that would really cost someone to farm it out in the region of about £4k to %5k to do.

Actually for £1k a hardtop would be top of the list.

I can see the appeal of a HT for the winter but I've got a garage for the salty months. I sacrifice my dignity and spent Nov to March driving around in my old fella's Mitsi Delica. :D I'm a bit OCD with car cleanliness so this helps my state of mind.

Reamp, exhaust and sport seats if you have not got them. Oh and colour coded front grills
