03-08 BMW Z4 HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS FOR HID BLACK 04

Has anyone bought the HID version of these headlights? If so does the projector have the light cut off solenoid or is it just a projector in the headlight.
IF you don't know what I mean look at this.

Look at the section "How Bi-xenon Projectors Work:"

IN regards to fitting xenon equipped cars to these non xenon supporting lights I got the following response from the seller when asked if there was a kit to retrofit hid's into the light housings. I am referring to the black with clear lens but I am assuming all variations are the same.

Hello
Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, we do not recommend using HIDs with these headlights. We suggest this due to the fact that there are a lot of low quality HID kits on the market that will produce enough heat to melt the lens. If any HIDs are installed on headlights we sell, the warranty will be voided. We do not have a model available that will accept Xenon kits.

Best Regards

So my question is has anyone gone ahead and installed hid's anyway without melting the lens?

And can the xenon equipped cars be fitted with halogen lights temporarily without major modification? IE stripping wires etc.

The sellers response doesn't make sense. There are 2 version of this Headlight. A HID and Non-HID. Did you ask the seller about the correct headlight? I have a Non-HID Z and will be purchasing the HID Version for use with some TRS HID's.

Never a fan but I have to admit the black inner version looks very up to date. I think if I had some I'd probably tint the 'eyebrow' on the top as it looks like too much lens IMO. The E89 light has a silvered 'eyebrow' so think it might look good

Hi,

Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK where you can buy some clear headlights for the Z4? Everyhwere I look they are all in USD and for LHD vehicles. PLEASE HELP!

www.2xcite.co.uk

Ring them they often dont show the headlights on their web site as they seem to sell as they arrive

Thanks for the replies, I have contacted both... Does anyone else have any useful webstites as well that I can contact/make a purchase for some headlights?

Yeh I like them Nova2k7! Are they non hid? Reasonable price?
yeah they are non HID and cost £340

Nova2k7 how are you finding these lights? I have a couple of questions if you can help..

1. Did you modify them to RHD spec or are they made for UK vehicles?

2. Did they require any modifications in order to connect them or were they just plug and play?

3. And lastly; any issues so far, ie warning lights activated, AE failing, or misting inside the lights?

I'm all for OEM but I really like the look of these lights, they freshen up the front end and look great with the lights on

1. Nope they are are uk compliant
2. Yep plug and play. Apart from the halo rings which you have to wire into the side light's! There are plenty of instructions on how to do it.
3. Nope, no warning lights, and they come with a guarantee so no issues, yes I have had some misting but it never lasts long.

So far i love them and so glad that I changed the old ones!

Thanks for answering my questions :) I have a deposit on some oem halogens from an 06 (clear hockey sticks) but I'm still undecided both are similar price.

Have to decide by Monday as oem ones are waiting to sell :-/
