Has anyone installed these new headlights from ebay yet? The ebay item number is 160549904838.

Color : Black
Projector Headlight
All headlights sold in a pair. Left and Right
Bulbs not included. Bulb size requirements are printed on the back of the headlights
Some wiring may be required for operation of LEDs (if equipped)
Fits : BMW Z4 03-08
PRO-YD-BMWZ403-HID-BK

These look interesting. Some ebay halo headlights were posted up here recently and the consensus was they looked a bit crap but these seem a lot better unless i'm going mad and they are the same ones.

My cornerns would be: What if the Halo rings fail, can they be replaced or is the headlamp ruined? Also these are for the US market so could the beams be adjusted for RHD?
 
I purchased a set a month ago but have not installed them yet as I am away for work and will then go on holidays for 2 weeks. They are good quality but I think the chrome set looks better so I might go for an exchange.

I think my photos are the only photos on the web of these lights "in real life" lol

They do look good and i was tempted myself. if they are the same as these one's which are listed on ebay

Are they ok for RHD cars :?
 
I think the proof is in the fitting and what they then look like and so far I don't think I've ever seen any fitted.

I think all those on all the sites are actually the same lights either just black or silver.

Obviously halogen only :thumbsdown:
 
I've purchased a set last night from ebay too. It was tough trying to decide between chrome or black. I went with black in the end.

Why are there three connectors? The original headlight has only one connector.
 
I think all the lights have at least 2 connectors, one for the lights and one for the step motors. Xenon in effect have another on the underside to mount the ballast.
 
I'd be interested in seeing pics of these fitted ! (idealy to a black Zed)

Will these halogens be as poor as the BMW original ?
If so can HID's be fitted ?

Will keep fingers crossed this may be the answer to get rid of the tango look :driving:
 
OK I've just spoken to the chap who's selling these and they're approx £310 delivered to UK address....very very tempting !

He told me they've sold approx 20 sets in the last 6 weeks but doesn't have any pics of them fitted to a Z4.

What's everyone's view on these ?

To buy or not to buy !, or should we stick with the quest to find OE orignals ??? :headbang: :headbang:

which company or site was that?I rather buy from somewhere a bit more reputable,I have seen M Style has listed the lights as well.I have emailed them and asked them if they have a photo of them fitted.


if they do get back to me with a photo,I'll share,and if they do look good,I think we should see if we can get a group buy.

I'm looking at going for the chrome lights with the chrome indicator bulbs (too much chrome you think ?).

One thing just occurred to me though...my current halogens have the levelling thingy when you start the ignition...will these do the same ?
 
Just had the following answer from the dealer

"We haven't fitted a set of these ourselves yet, we have only seen the images from the manufacturers test fitment so my technical team are unaware if the auto levelling system can be transferred. As far as we are aware, any auto levelling system will be made redundant."

Does that make these a no go ?? :thumbsdown:

Argh think need to see them on standard Z4 !

First impression is they look ok. How do u feel about losing the self levelling function ?

Not mine just remember reading about it, someone wanted to see them fitted.
