12,000 miles? WHy has this car never been driven? is there something wrong with it?? 8)

Bing - DO IT!!!

This car was never bought to be a daily runner. I had bought a new Vogue 3 months previous for that.
I lost my brother in June 2006. I spent 3 days with him before he went. I came out of hospital thinking 'you only live once'. I already had a nice Toledo Blue 3.0ltr. With only 6,000 miles on it.
But for some reason, I needed to buy the //M. Bad timing really. Was vulnerable.
I sold the 3.0lltr to a friend. Bought the //M. Cheered me up for a while. Then felt guilty. Don't know why. Just did.
Found myself spending more time polishing it, than driving it. Maybe it helped me grieve.
First 3 years I enjoyed driving it. as time went on, I used it less.I still love driving it when I do go out in it. But something is missing.
Time to close that chapter in my life I think.

So no, there isn't anything wrong with it.

John has put a deposit on the car. He is coming tomorrow morning to view. If he isn't happy, I will refund the deposit.
I have had 2 members now offering to buy the car without seeing it. Just from the photos.
I will be extremely sad to see it go.

Kev.

Say no more

I'm trying to sell my house at the moment - a lovely place and in many ways ideal for me - to close one chapter of my life for good, and to make way for the next to begin.

Wow Kev. Very touching - I am glad it is going to find a good home, and am even more grateful for your PM on Sunday. Now I understand

If it carries any value, I give my personal recommendation of the person selling it, Kev. I would be very happy to buy a car from him.

Only just seen this. Thank you. I'm genuinely touched. Very kind of you to say.

I just hope the person who buys it looks after it for me...
Like that long-term planning, Bing!

Yeah, I will PM John for an update on it's condition every 6 months or so :P

I will be slacking if the condition is ever anything other than absolutely mint! :) Kev's fastiduous maintenance will not falter in my stewardship, i am a stickler for keeping things in order when it comes to my cars, so it will be in good hands assuming I am the new owner! :)

Car now sold. A pleasure to meet John. I'm sure that he will look after my baby. Many thanks to all that showed interest in the car.
Many thanks for all of the comments also. A new chapter begins.

Kev.

Congratulations on the sale and I'm sure John will be delighted with his purchase.

Is the money going to a new car Kev?

To be honest with a car in this condition and at that price point relative to others in the market, IMO it deserved to sell this quickly

The fact it's my favourite colour for an ///M AND a Roadster just makes it perfect. Congrats to the new owner.

Congrats both...

Congrats on your purchase... you've got a nice one there. You must be the first new owner who hasn't received umpteen "show us some pics" messages... we've seen how nice the car is already.

Oh go on... show us some new pics anyway! Any excuse and all that!

Yeah it'll look different on a new drive and that - calls for a full set of pics IMO, only fair.

Congratulations on the ///M, John. You've got yourself a platinum plated beauty there.

...and Kev - very best of luck with your next chapter

+ 1, Couldn't have said it better

cheers all, car is mega! exactly as described and clearly has wanted for nothing.... I felt bad for Kev as i can see his letting his pride and joy go and i am the evil chap coming out of the night to take it away from him, but at the same time i can totally understand where he is coming from with his reasons for selling up.

ive sorted out the insurance already, esure was cheapest for me £700 including the good woman, there were a couple cheaper that insisted on trackers being fitted, but a) if a car of mine gets stolen, i dont want to see it again and b) it isnt the cheapest when you have to install and run a tracker!

I need to find a trusted specialist for the M in Birmingham, i imagine there are a few, just need to know who is any good!

Will post some pics up of the car in a different driveway when ive collected it! :driving:

Beautiful ///M congratulations on your purchase and credit to Kev for keeping it so lovely, a new chapter begins for both of you, Good Luck!

Nice one Johnnymiller! You can now smile broadly that you have a cracking Zed *in a colour* :o  , not like most the other boring BMW tones :P

Exactly. You don't see many in red, and I had previously thought when looking at all the original marketing material and media that red was best, I never imagined I'd find an example like this one, the vast majority of used are black or blue it seems. I have also seen a few champagne coloured ones for sale locally, but none in red so I'm chuffed that I've bagged this one and it is mint too! Happy days....
